Facebook Privacy?

I just hate them. Seriously, I do.

Not only is my profile picture visible, but I keep getting requests from desi creeps all the time.

'wanna frannnnnnnnnnndship?"
“hi sara whr from u…”
‘you look like lady gaga’

OMG, and yes the lada gaga part is true lol. i blocked him immediately.

do you get any of these kind of requests? seriously, i’m only FOURTEEN years old and these guys are around 25-40. some of them have mutual friends too, but i decline anyway since i don’t know them well.

my facebook wall and photos are not visible anyway, just my profile picture.

i’ve blocked certain people from my friends list who are my male older cousins from seeing my profile…fobby ones, actually lol. :aejaz:

i’ve blocked my dad from my facebook wall too, don’t want him to see the stuff i write hehe :@:

I wish facebook old privacy settings were back so i wouldn’t get these dumb requests all the time. i only add people i personally know anyway, and i don’t like networking. for me, facebook is a family/friend blog with personal stuff that shouldn’t be shared with people outside that list.

your views? (:

Re: Facebook Privacy?

you dont know how to manage facebook privacy settings? then why are you even on it :smack:

Re: Facebook Privacy?

hi Sara, wana be friend? :)

PS: Deactivate your account and read FB help to use privacy controls

Re: Facebook Privacy?

with the way you treat your father and other members of the family.. i’m surprised you still consider yourself a part of the family :5:

Re: Facebook Privacy?

Early teens is a confsuing part for everyone imo...

i do know how, none of my extremely personal stuff like my wall or photos are visible to unadded people. however, i do wish my profile picture wasn’t visible.

Re: Facebook Privacy?

i agree, Shak09… i just hope that early teen behaviour is not encouraged to be free-reign lasting past teen years :hinna:

Re: Facebook Privacy?

There is a way to completely hide your profile from EVERYONE. Only you can invite people to be friends. Go that route if you are comfortable and Brother from another mother, please give the girl some room to breathe? Lay off her back man.

Okay, irrelevant to the topic.

:nono: :offtopic:

Moving on, everyone i know has a facebook account. some of my family members add random people, so their list is HUGE. I have around 150 friends, but all of them are people i actually know: both from Pak and the U.s.

THANK YOU.

My profile is hidden, you can't see it in search engines which is a relief but my friend's friends can STILL add me though. which really sucks, because i keep declining a majority of those requests.

I don't think he is even reading what you are writing....

Facebook's privacy features have changed. Your profile picture is no longer private, and anyone can send you a friend's request. Previously there was a feature that blocked friend's requests.

GA- There is a feature that only allows friends of friends to be able to send you a request. I think that is the most privacy facebook is allowing you to have. Eventually facebook will fade out, just like AIM, Xanga, and Myspace did due to privacy issues.

if you aren’t contributing, please leave. i am trying to get a fresh start and all you’re doing is making things worse. posting stupid comments which were about another topic is unnecessary and very annoying.

Re: Facebook Privacy?

I posted a similar thread recently:

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/life-and-relationships/416910-serious-issue-taken-lightly.html

Dont forget…whatever friends you have on facebook are easily accessible and open for viewing. There is no privacy setting that blocks your entire friends list from being viewed by all. Whatever you write on facebook is as good as publishing in a newspaper as far as I’m concerned.

:k:

Re: Facebook Privacy?

If its about your profile pic, just don't put up a pic of yourself.. For the most part though, I think you'll have to accept that you can't really be completely private on fb.. even if you pick the settings where no one can search for you, friends of your friends will always be able to click their way on to your profile and see your pic/whatever else is visible. Thats why I deactivated a while ago, I think I'm too much of a private person for fb.

Re: Facebook Privacy?

simple ... just close facebook .. its a waste of time and energy ... people who actually wanna stay in touch with you will pick up the phone or talk to u on msn ... and rest of u don't really care about anyways

Re: Facebook Privacy?

Or in your profile album, make the first/default picture as a faceless picture and the second one as a picture of you. That way, it's only visible to friends.
