Facebook Envy Study

Is Facebook envy making you miserable? | Reuters

Interesting huh? Goes along quite well with our desi paranoia of “nazar”

Re: Facebook Envy Study

A lot of people use facebook to show how great their (imaginary) lives are. If you know somebody personally then you can figure out easily how true fb represents that person. So you don’t have to envy (if you are prone to it).

Re: Facebook Envy Study

Le Pakistan you cannot generalize that thing. Some people like to show off but sometimes people are happy. And some people are jealous when they don’t have same thing. Sometimes I like to post pictures of my children but not every other day. I think almost finished our private and personal life. Before Facebook no one knew where we are going or having fun and there was less jealousy. But it is still our choice how much we want to share with people.

Re: Facebook Envy Study

I always post good news on there, never post the bad stuff, not ciz I’m trying to mislead others but who wants to hear whining on a Facebook wall? And my problems - I’m ashamed of them and some of them are work related and I have coworkers on there so can’t discuss that stuff.

Then I read this article and was like hmmm…hope people aren’t judging me as the jealous type.

Anyway I’ve been frustrated with how people have put all their social networking skills to sitting behind a computer screen. I like talking to people in real life and going out with good company not sitting on FB and saying hello to people.

Plus, thinking of putting my pics, like grad pics, on a limiter view so people aren’t getting pissy looking at them. :frowning:

Re: Facebook Envy Study

UZ, I am talking about people who are not in real life how they present themselves on fb.

I am not talking about putting your childrens pic or your own picture. Of a picture of your tree.
