Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
The ban is not stupid. Women should stay indoor and help raise the kids. They should not engage in men's tasks. That's Islamic.
Not sure what is so 'islamic' about that...the next step in that twisted logic is that when women needs doctors, they cant see male doctors, and well since there are no women doctors, the women should just die and stuff..
Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
I never said that I don’t like Arab News as a newspaper. It’s just that over time I’ve found the views of some of its readers so infuriating that I’ve started to avoid visiting the website altogether. Now I only visit the site occasionally.
There were plenty of Qadri supporters amongst the Arab News reader base :hinna:
I remember seeing some of the comments from the Express Tribune readers in support of Qadri too I suppose all online versions of newspapers have comments sections rife with vitriol and ignorance. Some newspapers more than others though.
What’s the exact name for this Facebook group? Is the name in Arabic? I can’t seem to find the page.

Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
I don't get this. It's not like the Arabs are the most conservative people out there. How is allowing their women to sit in a chauffeured car with a non-mehram driver better than them driving themselves alone?
Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
But it's not like the average Saudi woman can just get up and leave the country.. Needing to drive for a woman can sometimes be a necessity, not just a choice..
Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
can women use public transport?? if there is any
There is no public transport. Women have their fathers, brothers or sons drive for them [if their fathers, brothers, or sons are available and not at work or school]. Or they hire male drivers who drive them around wherever they need to go.
Re: Facebook campaign launched threatening to WHIP Saudi female drivers
They take taxis which is the main public transport system there.
That's what I'm trying to say , how is it okay to ride with a non-mehram taxi driver/chauffeur as opposed to driving by yourself? It doesn't make sense. Saudis are such knuckleheads.
