face waxing techniques

salamz ladiez

there’s one type of waxing where they put hot [warm] wax on ur face with a butter knife in the direction of hair growth, the size of like one inch by two inches and then use a cloth to pull it off in the direction opposite that of hair growth. the size of the patch can be smaller also. the smaller the patch the better as less pull on skin better grip etc but it obviously takes more time then.

this is the method we’ve all heard of right…?

my friend was telling me abt this other method tho where basically the wax is put on ur face in a very small ball, like the size of a pea and then the index finger is used to take it off…its just pulled away the face in a direction perpendicular to ur skin…like no cloth involved

apparently this is a really good way n never gives spots n pimples…

hmmm…it sounded good n i checked with several parlors in my area in karachi but none of them know of this method…i dint check with the really hardcore famous parlors…maybe next weekend…my friend was naming some famous lahori parlor that follows this method…i dont remember the name…

khayr does anyone know abt this method? what type of wax is used in this? is this a better method?

thanks for any info

did you try depilex?

i havent heard of it either. ive grown into a hairy mammoth of late anyway, no waxing shaxing, no bleaching, no one to impress :p

Think the other way you mentioned is sugaring Irem but don't quote me on that.

in my family the ladies used something called gigen..essentially dried sap from treas that was sticky..you take a bit into your hand and use that stickyness to pull out hairs...it supposedly works really well...

I have been to a spa where they use it.

They just call it hard wax.
I had it done on my arms and to tell u the truth I
didn't really like it. It takes much longer than hot wax (the normal
way).

thanks for the replies guys :)

SAJAL...on arms? hmm...that must have taken really long with those small sized pea sized wax balls...those were the ones they were using? i heard it was used on the face to avoid pimples on the face...i dont mind abt time coz the face is a small area anyway, i just wana follow a recipe that doesnt leave spots...
:)

amelie...hmm, i never heard of it..i'll see if anyone knows about it :) where do they get that from? what tree is it?

Brit chick...hmm...i c..thx for the info :)

cat-woman, no yaar i've been so busy...i dont wana go all the way to depilex, i'm trying to find their phone number and will just call and ask...but u know how they r reluctant to give any info on fone..
besdies i have heard such horror stories abt them that i dont even wana deal with them... shudderz
n yeah i know what u mean :) i am really lazy sometimes too..but u gotta keep up warna u feel weird to urself init...sigh
when r u coming back to SA btw? :)

Irem i have seen the arabs do this and the its basically called sugaring as someone already mentioned. I am not sure but i think it contains honey/sugar with lemon (dont quote me on this!). My egyption neighbours used to use that and they have such wonderful skin. I doubt you will find a lot of people doing this in pak.

Hard wax is supposed to be better than hot wax for skin prone to break outs because no wax gets into the pores as is possible with hot wax.

It is much more time consuming and not as thorough. I don't know about face (haven't needed to wax there) but for legs hot wax is best.

Irem
it was much bigger than pea size. I don't remember
how big exactly as it has been a few years. But like Muzna
said it is supposed to be better for the skin than the hot wax.

So I guess if u wanna get it done on your face it should
be better than hot wax but other body parts it can take a long time.

thanks Sajal, Muzna and Ira for ur replies… :k:
