When people praised Trudeau for being as good as or better than Obama for capitalising on photo opps I smiled as I knew that these kinds of people with hidden agendas are way more dangerous than the people who are open about their agendas. I totally oppose targeting any community on the basis of their faith Way to go Mr. Fake humanist for not protesting a racially motivated bill. Atleast in USA there are scores of people who will stand against racism but most Canada seems silent.

Canada has a really good PR team so they, along with the UK and Australia, love to wank off to how progressive they are and how they are not backwards like Americans. However, all of those countries are up there with the USA in regards to bigotry but it just isn’t nearly as well known lmao.

My belief is that they are far ahead of the USA in systematic racism, Americans are way louder but then they have many people who speak against bigotry. I don’t see brown people do that well here whereas in USA the desis can do really well. Most of my family is in USA and they have done incredibly well, many were here in Canada before but they did better after moving to USA.

Trudeau has opposed the ban publicly. But from a federal perspective he can’t interfere with state legislation.

The opposition is just political and for optics only. There will be constitutional and legal challenges. Leader of NDP is opposing it and has promised to fight it.

Face veil is not even required in islam so I don’t know why so many muslims **** things up in the west? The so-called islamic rightwingers / conservative salafists **** things up for every muslim out there.
I don’t know if it will happen in Canada, but right wingers use the same sentiments to go ban hijabs. I would fight for a hijab but not for something that isn’t required in islam to begin with.

The lady who did not want to take her veil off for the citizenship oath and then there was a court battle really stirred things up and now defending face veil costs votes. I still contend it is an individual’s right how they dress themselves and practice their faith. This goes against basic human rights and constitution and Trudeau does not have the balls to stand up for what is right.

I think he has. When six Muslims were killed in mosque in Quebec, he called them terrorists. They were all white people. Not evils or mentally deranged etc bs as depicted by many here. Recent example of pure terrorism was Los Vegas merciless killings. The killer was never called terrorist.
