Face Primer to Cover Redness

Combination/acne prone skin that’s been prone to dryness recently. My cheeks & nose area gets really red at time and it shows through foundation. I bought MUFE HD Primer in Green last week. Its doing a great job at covering redness but it’s also breaking me out. :teary1:

Any recommendations?

Re: Face Primer to Cover Redness

I think you would be better of using a concealer under your foundation to cover up redness. Just ensure that it's from a mineral makeup range. I find primer is only good to set the makeup and make it glide on, it's not designed to cover up the way concealer and foundation do.

I have a similar skin type to what you have just mentioned. Finding the right makeup had always been an issue for me :/

I am currently using lancome la base for my primer - which does an awesome job, a pea size dab covers the whole face - does not even leave the skin greasy. Very smooth coverage. This helps with the dryness.

As for a good concealer, take a look at laura mercier - secret camouflage (cake) or Lancome maquicomplet (liquid). Amazing products, used them for my acne marks. Never broke out and provided great full coverage!! I also love the quick touch up pens (for a quick fix) Dior Skinflash and YSL - touche eclat.

Also, clinique has this redness solution makeup - my mum uses that at times to cover the redness. It works like a tinted moisturizer, not heavy at all and lasts long.

I like Dr Brandt's pores no more...in fact I love it. Somehow it calms my red areas down.

In the summer though, nothing really seems to be working that well.

Thanks for the recs! I will check them out this weekend… :)

Re: Face Primer to Cover Redness

Try the new Tarte Colored Clay primer- it has correcting shades and your skin tone shade so it gives a bit of coverage as well

Re: Face Primer to Cover Redness

Well you could just try a good full covering foundation. A good drugstore foundation I would recommend is revlon colorstay. Another way to cover your redness is to get a green concealer.
