Lots and lots out there and I’ve always been loyal to my MAC, Clinique and Shiseido Translucent pressed powder but I recently switched to Benefits’ ‘Hello Flawless’ and I have to say it really does give you a flawless finish! Best part is that it doesn’t look cakey at all and doesn’t make me shiny even in this crazy, hot and humid weather. Some of you asked me on facebook as well, so yes it’s ‘Hello Flawless’. ![]()
Face Powders
I've recently discovered Nars light reflecting finishing powder...it's absolutely amazing!
Re: Face Powders
I never wear powder. I'll try this one though.

After been years of using Vichy setting powder, I recently ordered the MAC 'stetting powder'. It will be my first time trying it ever, I have always been relunctant to use MAC products for the face after hearing much horror stories of breakouts, but fingers crossed :)
Do you find benefit's products colour slection is not wide enough for desi skin tones? what would you recommend for MAC NC35 or Bobbi brown's 'warm natural/honey'?
Re: Face Powders
I don't really wear powder to be honest...I find it makes me oilier faster.
If I get oily or shiny, I use a Starbucks napkin to dab at the oil or shininess and its gone.
Re: Face Powders
So geens If I got this, what foundation or base or whatever it's called would go with this? Like before putting this on what do I use first?
You know I have zero knowledge about make up. so don't mind the silly question and haaalp!!!
P.S. I want something that I can find in Pakiland. Thankuverymuchiloveyou.

That's true Benefit doesn't have a great shade spectrum but they do have powders to suit the NC35-42 range. I feel that a powder really helps 'set' the foundation and locks-it in place and pores look less noticeable if you use the 'pat-and-roll' method with a puff! I also thinking powders provide a great 'finish' to your entire look.

You would use whatever foundation you are happy with, followed by a concealer for your under-eye area or any other pigmented area. During my trip to Karachi I tried the Yardley Translucent powder and that too is fantastic for setting your make-up!
Re: Face Powders
the higher end one that i've tried is Smashbox halo hydrating perfecting powder, it gives a really smooth finish.

Sorry I meant to ask which shade of 'Hello flawless' would be suitable to NC35
Re: Face Powders
I would say either 'toasted beige' or 'amber' but please go to a Benefit counter and try it on and let them get you a perfect match!
Re: Face Powders
They do…I use them on clients and find the Ben Nye banana powder to work best for working on brides. I just feel on my skin…I start to look so dry after powder and then I get oily so fast its crazy. Faster than without powdering. So I noticed that a lot of beauty gurus are raving about the Starbucks napkin being the perfect blotting tool as it actually sets your makeup. So weird but it works! Re: Face Powders
I love Ben Nye too, use it on my clients as well as Shiseido but I tried Hello Flawless and swoon. I don't really get oily but I'll try the napkin!
Re: Face Powders
LOVE Ben nye banana powder, how long do you keep it on? I keep at least for 15-20 mins before sweeping it away…yah I know I am a freak :hehe:
Re: Face Powders
How do you guyz use ben nye banana powder??
Re: Face Powders
I personally don't prefer face powders unless you gonna face the camera and intense lighting, matte finish is the preferred look. But for face to face interaction, I think the glowy, dewy finish looks so wonderful on some people. To me its a very fresh and youthful look as oppose to flat, cakey finish I tend to get with face powders.

I don't use it necesaarily as a face powder but more or so to set my concealer, I use illamasqua concealer but it tends to get oily (but I love the coverage) so I need something on top that won't crease, and the yellow base/tint to it is perfect because it brightens and highlights the area applied to, it's implied that you dont need a lot of it but I love lathering it on, that's just me I LOVE a good highlighted face. I had a picture of how I apply it - I will dig it up for you :)
Re: Face Powders
I love a good highlighted face too! Whether it's a gold, copper, frosted pink highlighter I love them all! The NARS "orgasm" illuminator is my current favorite (when I wear warmer colors).
I m nc 35, which shade will u say for me in benefits?

If there's a Benefit counter you can go to, it's best that you let them match you. :)
