Looking at the trend in society, its pretty damn obvious that its body.
For the body types:
Typical guy would go for a figure cuz he can always use a brown bag over her head.
Typical girl would always be gnawing at something else.
Personally, I'd go for the face.
body cuz at night u dont really look at the face but u feel the body but at the sametime.... when u first see the person u have to be attracted to him so thura buhut tu face bhi acha hona chahiyay eyes maybe lips...

Tough question. Miracles of make-up allow us to do wonders on the most hideous of faces, but no amount of foundation or even duct tape can hide bingo wings.
P.S. I would have liked to say neither, but I'd have been lying.
It is really tricky for me to answer this. I mean, I wud always love a good face.. but if the face is placed on a flabby, out of proportion bod, it wud just ruin the whole thing for me. And similarly a bod equipped with six pack and stuff on an ugly face, really won;t do it for me either.
So I guess..I wud prefer a good balance of the 2.
Personally, I spend more time worrying about not getting out of proportion than worrying about black heads and wrinkles( which btw I have none :-p ).
i've noticed guys are more into the figure, how many of u guys would go for a pretty fat girl versus a girl whos okay looking with an awesome figure? It's all about confidence

In Teen age as a GUY, I was interested in FACE.
Then after it when Croseed the Teen age and got some more ideas ..

If we are talking about a wife, then definitely personality…
How long would a face or figure last? 10 years? 20 years? After that, all you are left with is the person while the beauty fades away…

Just want to contribute my own two cents -
I was raised with this rule in my home - "Pretty is as pretty does" so that none of us would forget that true beauty is only a reflection of our true hearts not a reflection in the mirror.
In college, one funny guy in my English Literature class used to say -
"Beauty is only skin deep - but ugly goes clear to the bone!!!" ;)

Figure is definitely more appealing. An average looking girl with a nice figure would get my attention a lot faster than some pretty face only. But most importantly she got to have some personality. I have encountered many knock-outs that only knock themselves out as soon as they open their mouth.
But since the question posed is on face or figure, I have to pick figure.
In a hypothetical situation, Figure.
But in reality it is never this clear cut, and there are more important things to consider in a person, like whats on the inside.
Both plus personality.

If t/ person is charming, automatically you feel t/ pull towards that particular individual to converse, (etc.) If he/ she is a jerk, no matter how gorgeous, it's just a big turn off for me.
Between t/ 2, figure ofcourse. It shows how much you maintain yourself, workout wagaira, wagaira.
not SO beautiful face but a good figure then => Good/Okay
not a good figure but a pretty face then => Okay/Good
no figure, no face => hmm no comment
pretty face, good figure => hmm still no comment
Sometimes my own gender disgusts me. This thread is a perfect example.
