FAA Licenses First Private Rocket

X Prize has about 20 teams (half in the US) in it and it is expected that someone will win it in 2004. Its not surprising that one of them got a license right about now. :-)

Burt Rutan designed voyager, aircraft that circled the globe nonstop. He has worked on USAF and NASA projects so no surprises there either.

As far as money goes.... XPrize is only 10 million bucks so whatever way these individuals device MUST be commercially viable for this excercise to be profitable.
