FA cup Final

The FA cup final on saturday sees Arsenal V Southampton. Who do you think will win?

My vote goes to the gunners.

Should be an interesting game.

Thierry Henry insists Arsenal are fully focused on winning Saturday’s FA Cup final, after admitting he hopes to finally break his Cardiff duck.
The French striker accepts it was his wayward finishing that let Liverpool off the hook long enough to snatch victory in the 2001 final. And he was again off the mark last year, although the Gunners managed to see off Chelsea to win 2-0.

Henry said: "I know people still talk about that [the 2001 final] and for a time it annoyed me because it seems you are sometimes remembered more for your mistakes than your successes.

"But at the end of the day you must realise that this is the life of a professional player and that the next challenge is the most important one.

“We have lost our title in the Premiership and everybody is disappointed about that but I have found the last couple of weeks of the season very enjoyable and hopefully we can carry some confidence into the FA Cup final.”

Henry added: “It means a lot to us. Often I’ve been left out of the starting team in the competition and I understand why, but this time I very much want to start and do better than I did in the previous two finals.”

Freddie’s ready to make history](Yahoo is part of the Yahoo family of brands.)

Freddie Ljungberg is ready to rise to the big occasion once again to become the first player to score in three consecutive FA Cup finals.
Ljungberg found the net not only in Arsenal’s 2001 defeat to Liverpool but also in their victory against Chelsea last season.

"Of course, I would be very happy to go into the history books as the first player to score in three consecutive finals, so if we’re leading near the end and I start to shoot from every angle, you’ll know why!‘’ he said.

"It’s always great to play in a cup final and I’ve been lucky enough to score in the last two. If I score again, that would be brilliant but the important thing is that we win the game.

"When I get prizes or medals, I give them to my mother. Maybe when I get older, it’s something that I might be proud of but when you’re in the middle of it, you just want to focus on the games.‘’

Ljungberg returned to form and fitness last weekend with his first Arsenal hat-trick in the 4-0 win at Sunderland and warned Saturday’s opponents, Southampton, that he thrives on the big occasions.

"I have always felt it is a privilege to play in big games. Maybe I get a little bit nervous, but so many millions of people want to be in your shoes so you just have to take the opportunity and seize it,‘’ he added.

"People tell me that I tend to lift my game in big matches. I don’t know why but I think it’s a bit more fun to play in the big games, to be honest.

"You wake up with a smile on the morning of a cup final. It’s a great occasion. There are normally a lot of fans outside the hotel by 10am and it’s just a great atmosphere.‘’

Ljungberg would even have relished designing Arsenal’s cup final suits but, for the likes of Martin Keown and Oleg Luzhny, it was perhaps just as well that the enigmatic, fashion-conscious Swede did not.

"I suggested doing the suits but they voted me down!‘’ he said with a smile.

YESSSSSSSSSSS

Arsenal won! Arsenal won!

Did you guys see the last minute of extra time, where the two corners were conceded? And how Ashley Cole saved the day for Arsenal with 10 seconds left. I expect a few changes in the Gunners club, but first things first they must extend Pires contract!
