F1 season approaching a spectacular finish

This year the F1 championship has been as open as can be for over a decade or so.

A total of 5 drivers have a good say in the title for this year

Last weekend Montoya won his second race of the year and overtook Raikkonen in the standings.

With races left it promises to be a fight to the wire for the F1 crown.

Standings:

  1. M. Scumacher 71
  2. JP. montoya 65
  3. K. Raikkonen 62
  4. R. Schumacher 53
  5. R. Barrichello 49

looking forward to the next race in Hungary in 3 weeks time

did u see the last two races? these two races will go in the history as the ones who brought the crowds back to F1.
Silverstone was a humdinger - the way Barichello overtoook Raikonnen ( twice) and Coulthard overtaking in the final moments...

Yesterday had a bad start...did not expect the three of the top racers crash out...(Ralf has been penalised for that) but then onwards Montoya cruised and his three pit stop strategy worked in his favor..Schumacher took a gamble going for two pit stop with hard tyres but finally his tyre gave away ( funny that I was expecting Trulli's tyre to burst)

Yes...it is no more a walkover for Ferrari as it was last year...this year BMW Williams were slow starters but they have performed exceedingly well in the past six races...and the best part is Montoya is becoming as reliable as ever..

Schumacher was on a 3 stop strategy as well, but despite that his tyre still blew up

his tyre blew up on 63/67 th lap…so you mean to say he was scheduled to take a pit stop between 63-67 lap? :konfused: :konfused:

no, he had his 3rd stop about 5-10 laps before this happened. i think

Dude what are you talking about. Schumi made only two regulation pit stops on laps 17 and 38. There could be a couple of reasons why his left tyre went flat: 1) Dint come in for the third pitstop so the tyres couldnt handle the wear'n'tear as oursoulsatpeace pointed out, 2) while overtaking trulli from the outside he might have picked some debris, 3) there was already some debris on the tracks from the 1st lap incident (although i doubt this one)
Oh one other thing, Bridgestone are screwed big time

^yes, ur right

mea culpa

Dude U scared the hell out of me i read it as** F-1 jdjdjdjdjdjdjdjddjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdhfhfhf Finish** please correct it as Formula 1, I request it on the behalf of all F-1 guppies.coz there are way toooo many things to scare us these days.

I really hope Montoya makes it. I don’t want Schuhmacher to win again. :snooty:

nikema: :hehe: U’d expect an F-1 therad other than formula 1 in KK?

Umer: let schumi win this year, next year one of the williams driver may win or Raikkonen. If Schumi wins this year, he’ll probably retire.

Schumi winning this year will hurt the sport as it will project that all the changes havent had their effect. I am putting my money on Raikonen as one of these races he will overcome his unlucky starts and go all the way.

montoya has been awfully consistent . but if suchmacher wins it will just go a step further to show how gr8 this guy is . n i agree, raikonnen has been quite unlucky in the past few races .

This weekend the Hungarian Grand Prix at Budapest :k:

interesting grid positions I would say...Will the Williams duo do the unimaginable?? I guess this is a good chance for them to take lead in the constructor championships

Ferrari and Schumi seem to have lost it completely somehow

5 races without win, and by the looks of it, number six coming up for Schumi…

diego Alonso wins his first ever GRandPrix

Schumi ends a disappoiting eighth.

Montay and Raikkonen close the gap to a mere 1 point
