This seems like a bit of a stretch. So if we perceive the earth is flat, will the earth, a subset - however small - of the universe, be flat, thus a acting according to our perception?

I honestly don’t know much about this topic besides a 5 minute interval from an hour and a half lecture. I agree, seems kind of a stretch when you think about it that way, will have to do more research on the topic.
