Today we went to an air show with a couple of friends. Really loved it, different planes doing very amazing tricks. The best part was the bombing. They did 2 kind of bombings. The F-16 dropped a single bomb (I don’t think it was REAL REAL as in the war) first and then came back to drop a few bombs simultaneously. This was captured by the friend’s camera. At first we couldn’t find where the bombs would drop but then caught them once they exploded. The first smoke you would see is the single bomb that was dropped a minute earlier. We were standing about 400-500 feet away from the bombs but the heat was so intense that we really felt it. It felt like when you open a very hot oven and let the heat hit your face.

Come to think of it, imagine if there was a slight error/mistake/miscalculation and the bombs fell a few hundred feet away from the target and fell on people?

No, I didn't find anyone keeping an eye on us. In fact, the soldiers standing inside the helicopters, planes, and military communication tent were very good and they explained everything thoroughly.
I was amazed to see their technology. They can basically be in a jungle and set up their own wireless network/wireless phone system and can manage about 100 cell phones with one machine at the same time. They can also switch back and forth and watch the camera activity of the cameras that are mounted on helicopters and planes. They had very nice flat screen TVs for video conferencing. I am impressed!

I'll remember that if they have an air show next year. Because of the war in Iraq, they said they are short on the funding for next year and following that, so possibly this was the last time they had it here. But if they ever have it again, I'll remember to take my camera.
