Re: Eyeshadows…

Sadaf where xactly in Lahore? I"m going to Lahore for a while, i might as well stock up

Re: Eyeshadows...

mac in pakistan? and the real thing? for that cheap? i dont think so..must be a fake.....probably called MACK and not MAC....even in the nike and gap stores, they dont sell real nikes...

Re: Eyeshadows...

^^ yeah its fake . i have tested some neutrogena products there and they didnt work at all. also i was in a lahore at a cosmetics shop and the guy was selling lancome, loreal, cosmetics for dirt cheap (about half price!) of how much they sell for in the USA. i asked him why they are so cheap and he said that the manufacturer is the same but they sell it cheaper to countries like pakistan where they know people cannot afford the higher prices (quality being same)
i did not believe him. im sure the quality must differ.

Re: Eyeshadows…

^ Ok lets talk about how in some places, they don’t even sell my shade of Covergrl foundation :grumpy: You can be kaali kaali and they’ll still make u get white powder

Re: Eyeshadows...

haha foundation dont last in pakistan. the humidity will melt it all away. u are better off wearing sunscreen moisturizer or a tinted moisturizer...

Re: Eyeshadows…

And i just bought lancome foundation.. :bummer: I think ill get a tinted moisturizer tht has a lotta SPF from Clinique .. at Lord and Taylor, buy anything for 21.50 and u ge ta 6 piece gift set

Re: Eyeshadows...

so true sara516...during the summer my covergirl shade is soft honey...in winter its one shade lighter (i tan easily)...but for some reason in pak the foundations are all white....i once went shopping with my aunt in pakistan....she isnt exactly ms "fair and lovely", if u know what i mean....but she ended up buying this foundation that was so not her colour..and the worst part was she only put in on her face and not her neck....she looked like a mime....especially in pics....the whole point of makeup is that ur not supposed to tell if someone is wearing makeup....duh!!!!!

Re: Eyeshadows…

^ YESSSS! But they’don’t get that! :smack: soft honey ismy color too! everything in pak is abt being the same, about blending in… there’s no uniqueness, no creativity (that i have seen).. no one dares to be different (like embrace their natural skin color  )

Re: Eyeshadows...

Goodness i saw this foundation in PAkistan called karaja i think, its a pan stick which felt like hard pancake dough and people were slathering it on obviously 3 shades lighter and 5 shades pinker than their own skin and looking like Elvira!!!

Re: Eyeshadows...

we should create a new club...the sanwli saloni clan...dunno what happened to the sohni larki clan....

Re: Eyeshadows…

I had this same problem in Pakistan, but if I used a powder foundation, it seemed to work a lot better than the liquid one that I normally wear. Any kind of moisturizer would make my skin look oily though, as if I was all greasy and sweaty.

Re: Eyeshadows...

^^ yeah mehnaz for some weird reason my cousins skins always stayed sweat free and fresh (i always wondered if it is the PAKISTANI makeup they use that is suitable for pakistan climate?) while i felt the need to shower after every three four hours. My brother just lounged around the house in shorts and no shirt......

Re: Eyeshadows…

Well, some girls in Karachi said that they use powder foundations in Karachi cause the liquid one that I use just wouldn’t work in that climate. I don’t even think used a moisturizer since that would kind of defeat the whole purpose. Maybe that is what causes the cake effect on their faces?

I think their make up texture is very different. It’s thicker … remember Swiss Miss lipsticks? That was a really thick textured lipstick, it wasn’t light like some of the brands we use.

Re: Eyeshadows...

^^ yeah lolz. i always wore moisturizer in karachi though. since its sunny even inside the house (stupid see-thru curtains) and yeah my skin got sweaty after that. yeah swiss miss lolz but u know that lipstick is quite long lasting ..... even sephora doesnt have many matte lipsticks these days.
