Eyeshadow/Mascara Help!

Hey Girls,

I have hardly ever applied eye makeup before but it just looks SO PRETTY that now I want to. So I have a few questions that i’m hoping you girls can answer for me so that I don’t end up looking like a clown :stuck_out_tongue: :

  1. When applying eyeshadow, do you apply it all the way up to your eyebrows or just on the crease of your eye?

  2. Are metallic eyeshadow colours reserved for night time? (i.e.: parties/functions, etc) Or can they be worn during the day?

  3. How do you know what eyeshadow colour to wear? Do you match it with your clothes? For example, say I am wearing a grey dress during the day to uni or whatever…WHAT colour would I match my eyeshadow with? :s

  4. Do you apply eyeshadow first or mascara?

Thanks in advance girls!

Re: Eyeshadow/Mascara Help!

hey
for me personally:

  1. i apply one shade on the lid (up to the crease), then a highlight color (under brow bone) and do the outer V (outside corner of eye) with a contrasting darker shade than the lide shade

  2. depending on how Bright or Dark the metallic shade is, i'll wear some during the day. otherwise the more flashy ones i reserve for parties, davats, etc

  3. i ALWAYS match eyeshadow to my clothes. Since i always wear 3 or 4 contrasting shades (lid, highlight, crease, outer V) i find it complimenting to match to your clothes. Of course, if its for work then i'll tone it down. i'm talking about davats/parties/functions, i go all out and definetely match!

  4. i always apply eyeshadow first, then eyeliner, and then mascara is last for me

hope this helps!!

Re: Eyeshadow/Mascara Help!

Thankyou so much! Yes that was VERY helpful but just a quick question: what kind of colours do you wear for work? Assuming you work in a corporate environment what kind of colours are appropriate? Thanku! =)

Re: Eyeshadow/Mascara Help!

no prob

for work (i work in a corporate atmosphere) i go with light browns, light golds, beige, mauves, rose pinks, light lavenders, light greys, light liiiiiight moss greens....that sort of thing. when in doubt, go with neutral like brown/beige (skin tone colors)
