Can't tell you how many times that has happened. The best thing is to just leave one slightly thicker, go out in public and pretend all is well.

^hahhaha..that reminds of a guy who did that as well…but he knew what it was..coz he is Arab…
He was talking to me..and all of a sudden staring at me…then after a few seconds he was like, “aahhh…I like how you have done your eyes…looks like a cat! You did it from the inside of the eye..not the out…very smart!”.
You know you are doing it right when a guy compliments you on it…
