How many of you shape or thread your eyebrows even though you might have heard it’s wrong? I know some women do, and they justify by saying they do it for their husbands, and it makes them look tidy and presentable. What do you guys think?
Girls, thank you for making the effort to go thru all that discomfort and expense to make your self look better. And ladies please get your moms and others to laser off those facial hair. My God I saw a young girl with plainly discernable mostashes. I wanted to take her aside and talk to her and then pay for a electrolysis or pulse laser removal of her moochh. But I couldn't gather enough nerve to approach her. I though even in meaning well I might insult or hurt her feelings.
But girls can do this. Please don't let someone like that poor girl walk around with mostashes.

Well.. say.. do you like women better with shaped eye brow or not?!?! if you do ... u should kno the difference .. if not.. well.. they r wasting their energy .. simple enuff ?!
whats not allowed is simply not allowed....
and shaping the eyebrows is clealy not allowed in Islam, wether to please ur hubby or anyone else....
shaping eyebrows is not allowed accept in such condition tht eyebrows r very thick and husbands start disliking their wives,only in this extreem condition,making eyebrows will be allowed..otherwise it is haram to do so...now i see many girls without reason make their eyebrows...they must make taubah and try not to do tht in future....removing hairs from any partts of the body for women is allowed except eyebrows
What about plucking of the eyebrows for guys?

nah ijtehaad makes on tht issue on which islam does not have any clear order…in this condition,we take out principles and make decision…making eye brows is haram in islam as it will remain…if u say ijtihaad then music sharab will also be allowed ??no way…i have very adult example for ijtihaad,might be moderators will not like tht but for ur knowledge,take oral sex between spouses..for tht no clear islamic order is present either to allow it or it is haram…so we have to make ijtihaad in this condition as many say this is makrooh and some say it is halal,now in this condition we have to follow principles and make decision wht we think is righht according to shariah…reason for giving tht clarification is many dont no exact use of ijtihaad…

Less then a week on this forum and I'm already learning so much. And Can any one quote from Quran or Hadith that this is Haram. Cuz the 'ask imam' links dont mentione any
Like many customs, this one of not trimming the eyebrows is based on what someone reported Muhammad once said (which was that he curses women who pluck their eyebrows). Probably because it was a trait of prostitutes in his time. I read where some scholars say that it is permissble to trim the eyebrows if they are displeasing to the husband.
can you pleae tell me the reffrence of the hadith you have qouted?
All I ever heard was that women couldnt make an arch with the eyebrow.Because in the Prophets' (SAW) time the prostitutes used to do this.Which is why it was not allowed.
However I have no idea if this is true.And about 99% of the females I know- shape their eyebrows.

MUslim Queen, I know what you mean, all the muslimahz i know and talk to, shape their eyebrows. When I ask them about it, they either become uncomfortable, or justify it in some way. I dunno what to do. The men usually says is haraam:nono1: while some prefer women get it done:disgust: and then women are usually indifferent, making it really up to that individual person.

Response: All praise is due to Allaah alone, and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon His Messenger and his family and his companions. To proceed:
"an-nams" is the removal of the hair from the eyebrows; And this is not permissible since the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) cursed the one who removed the hair from the eyebrows as well as the one who allowed such hair to be removed. It is (however) permissible for a woman to remove facial hair as well as the hair from her legs and arms.
And with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) and his family and his companions.
