Mind you, these were no ordinary muslims. These were educated, cultured and highly respected Ottomans and Arabs who mixed technology and religion. When muslims, jews and christians co-existed in spain.This was also centuries ago, when Islam was compatible with science, education and technology, when our contemporaries believed islam was both a religion and a way of life. At one point, to be muslim meant to investigate, question, and challenge life. When christians deviated from religion and moved towards science, we married the two. We gave rise to muslim philosophers.
The same praise cannot be given to muslims today. Now, more than ever muslims have denounced education. Theology, our ancient acclaim has been shafted in muslim countries for utilitarian professions instead. Doctors, accountants, lawyers - not scientists, mathematicians, or philosophers. Ironic isnt it, our rise to fame is exactly what we avoid today. All of a sudden to challenge nature through investigation is labelled unislamic by radicals like you. Gone are the days of free, uninterrupted academia in muslim civilizations. Instead, progress has become distinctly unislamic. While we saw an islamic future full of technology and science, today we see technology and science to be threats. The ottomans, today the turks were muslim visionaries. Today, you'll bash them for their innovations. The very people who gave you a paragraph to brag about are the ones you despise and hate.
You praise past contemporaries in your ancient islamic rhetoric, yet you bash contemporary muslims. It seems you're more interested in replaying the ottoman conquests than freeing muslim scholars from the imposition of a restrictive islam.
Only the ignorant will look at such ancient achievements to bash modern day critics. They'll criticize revolutionaries who want to pull our people out of the basins of poverty and superstition and towards knowledge, education, science. Ignorant thinkers, like you for instance, dwell on our past accomplishments with the hope an entire world will rise up and congratulate us for having the greatest libraries known to man. You're living in the past, and for however long you bash contemporaries you'll be left reading history books and watching old documentaries on bbc.

No Muslim criticizes science or technology...According to the video, it was Muslims who set the stage for a renaissance in Europe...However, these were the same Muslims who imposed and practiced Shariah which was their code of conduct and which helped launch them into history as the greatest civilization amongst the greatest ones...

To say the imposition and practicing of shariah propelled the Ottoman empires is a miscalculated attempt by you to associate the success of Europe with Islam. The ottoman claim to fame was their inclusion of Jews and Christians. Their system of millets, while heavily taxed, allowed Jews and Christians to freely govern their own communities. Sharia was never imposed. Neither was Islam. You cant say the same about ANY muslim country today.
Shariah was made available to Muslims in terms that are much more progressive than the interpretations of shariah today. The ottomans would bring forth divorce rights for women, they would officially disband arab slave caravans and they would remarkably teach medicine to prostitutes when famine and drought hit their furthest satelites.
Look back and praise the Ottomans for their leniency, and then tell me if any modern muslim state allows minorities the same privilege. The one and only country that does, Turkey, is a beacon to this day, yet the same people who push history books full of Ottoman progress fail to accept what Turkey can provide for the muslim world.

Your entire diatribe seems very bereft any proven or solid facts…I suggest you take a course in Islamic history like I did…It will open your eyes to see how much greatness Muslims achieved under the law of Shariah…
