Is this the pallette you guys are taking about?

I couldnt find the 120 pallette on the coastal scents website…can someone please post the link?

Re: Eye Makeup!

Slackira,

I really like your eyeliner. It's hard to see the colors you used for eyeshadow though-- is the photo taken with a webcam? Sometimes its hard to calibrate colors correctly with it

yup, that’s the one. and that’s the website where i ordered my palette from. they have the 120 palette on their site, it’s just temporarily out of stock. if you want to order it, try ordering it from ebay, you might get it for a little cheaper there too!

Re: Eye Makeup!

This is an awesome awesome thread. Thank you Marwah for the smoky eyes tutorial, I'll try it soon and double thanks for info on coastal scents, I just went to their website and ordered the palette.
Also, I never knew that primers help the shadows retain their original colors, now all I need is info on which primer should I buy for eyes, any specific suggestions, good brands? Would it be safe just buying any primer from a drugstore? Or should I visit Sephora?

Urban Decay Primer Potion (which you can buy through Sephora), is your best bet.

Re: Eye Makeup!

you're very welcome MIAinVA :)

urban decays primer potion is one of the most famous ones, works great i heard. i've never used an actual eyeshadow primer myself, i just use a creamy eyeshadow, that does the trick for me. the primer potion from urban decay is a little pricey though, and i'm sure something from the drug store will do the job also..so it's your choice.

Re: Eye Makeup!

and some more questions.. if any of u girls like to share some knowledge

1 wht is or wat differnce is pigmented, loose and pressed eye shadow?

2 wid wat type of eyeshadow v show wet brush ( or v dont use??)

???? can anyone mind sharing pleasE?

Pigments are the pure color.

Pressed powders are pressed because they're easier to use. Loose powders tend to go on more opaque because of how they adhere, but they are more difficult to control. They're pretty much the same components-- it's merely what you want to use it for and your expertise in using either that make a difference.

Generally, you can use any pressed eyeshadow wet or dry. What you use to wet it (water or a mixing liquid), and what you want the result to be are what decide if you want it wet or dry.

Some shadows are formulated to go on wet, then turn dry, etc.

Re: Eye Makeup!

Pigments r messy business, If ur gonna use pigment I recommend u first apply eye makeup then foundation

Re: Eye Makeup!

what do u think of these eye lashes?

I'm not sure if I get what you mean by the last part (shadow then foundation), but I wanted to add that pigments can be dangerous to work with if you don't know what you're doing--especially around the eyes.

Pigments (real pigments), are generally only marketed to industry professionals who know the safety protocols of using them, and know how to "cut," (that is, to fill), the pigment correctly concerning where it is used on the body.

For example- red pigments are generally considered a no-no for facial application. But red eyeshadow (which has been cut with other ingredients), tends to be ok.

I really like the shadow, it’s very clean and well done.

The eyeliner is beautiful and precise.

Barring any issues with photoquality or color calibration in my screen, the lower lashes could use a bit more color (mascara).

The upper lashes possibly (and I say possibly as I don’t see the straight forward look, just the side look), could be curled a little more.

Depending on the look wanted, individual false lashes could be added.

But all in all, I think the look is quite lovely.

Firstly apply ur eye makeup then apply foundation to the face and NOT TO THE EYES…

Im glad I cleared tht up wouldn’t want girls applying foundation over their eye shadows now :hehe:
