Let’s make this thread a thread for pics/tutorials/ideas/tips on any style of eyeliner at all, shall we?.. I’m talking about STYLES not types of eyeliners. **

Now, I don’t know about u girls but I find it really hard to put surma in my eyes with that stick thingy that comes with it… so I made up my own method of applying surma to the eyes. (don’t laugh..!)

  1. You’ll need a flat or angled eyeliner brush, surma, and vaseline.
  2. Wet the tip of the brush with vaseline.
  3. Now take a tiny bit of surma (very tiny bit) out of the container onto a tissue paper or something.
  4. Dip the “wet” brush into the surma. This way, your brush will pick up the surma alot better than when its dry. Oh, and use a synthetic brush if possible.
  5. Then all u have to do is to apply the surma from your brush to your eyes!
  6. Apply it thicker and more dense on the waterline and near the lash line but start getting less dense as u move away from the lash line.
  7. Once you have the surma applied, smudge it slightly and gently with a “pencil brush” or a q-tip to achieve that smokey effect.
  8. In the pic above, I applied a tiny bit of surma all over the eyelid coz I didn’t want to leave the eyelid empty and was in a hurry so I just put a tiny bit of surma powder all over the eyelid, instead of using an eyeshadow. Didn’t go above the crease.

I know its kinda silly, my mom thought I was super-useless coz I couldn’t even put surma on myself straight from the stick, and wasted all that time etc.

But really it wasn’t that bad. It only took me about 3 minutes to put surma on both my eyes. And then I just put on contacts for the final look. There was no mess, no fall out (and there’s alot of fall out if I apply surma from that stick applicator).

But yeah, I lovvvvveeeeee Surma!!! :wub: Surma alone gives an amaaazing effect when worn on light eyes, and even looks really really nice on darker eyes. And the most important thing for me is that wearing surma is also a sunnah, our Prophet PBUH used to wear surma quite often. It has healing properties and improves vision (not too sure about the brands in the market today, it was ofcourse all pure in our Prophet’s time). So once I find a suitable brand, I am going to be wearing it nearly everyday (obviously won’t be decorating my eyes so much when going out in public). I love it!

Even babies can wear it!!

Or even men!! (I know Johnny isn’t wearing surma, its probably a 10,000 dollar eyeliner!! lol JK)

i was jus going by the pic u posted in ‘arabic makeup’ Its a dramatic different, Even in these pics it doesnt look like alike. But whatever if thats what u wanna do.

For example

(you can still pretty much tell its me, coz of my nose(and nose stud)

Thats jus standard NORMAL BASIC eyeliner, took me literally 2 mins.


Jus kaajaal.


Thats what i did on my birthday. (didnt really blend it that well, it was jus simple 2 eyeshadows and a pair of false lashes.)


At a friends wedding, isnt all that, and i went thru the THIN eye brow phase.

Has anyone used ARDELL’s false lashes? They seem to be quite popular among youtube gurus. I have one set somewhere in my makeup kit but haven’t used them yet… they’re natural ones, not the long ones.

u guys re amazing! I am plannin to buy a Eye makeup kit so can u guys recommend me any MAC, Loreal or Maybelline makeup pallet? Please send me the link or picture okay. Cuz i will ask someone to get it for me from states or Canada. I want the pallet to hav arnd 4-6 colors dat u guys think are used on daily basis. Please HELP!

My eye shadows are Urban decay. The eye liner is MAC. And the false eye lashes are NYC and i have sum surma on. The mascara i THINK was maybelline
