Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

well i don't think it takes that much of an effert to pin a dupatta on your head....lol.. and you dont have to run around bloomingdales with your lengha on to get your make-up done. you can go there before your wedding day and they teach you how to apply the make-up yourself. if you don't want to do it yourself there are so many desi salons all over the U.S. where you can get your make-up done. my point was why would you have someone flown in from TX to say like N.Y. and pay for the persons traveling expenses when you can go to a local place and get your make-up done there without spending all the extra money.

Point taken and understood. Thanks shazi.

Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

Im not sure what course this discussion has taken, it was supposed to be enjoyable for all girls since we all have interest in makeup.

I just feel that when some thing good it seen, it should be appreciated. Most of us spend too much time picking on things and trying to find issues with them- talents should be encouraged. At weddings i always hear whispers about the dress is not good enough or the makeup is not right or not enough jewelery. It would be a positive change to not end up like our aunties who always pick our some kharabi with any thing involving another desi.

Desi professionals need support from their own- yes corrections always make way for improvement, but a bias based on their pricing is not fair. Of course you can always shop at walmart if nordstrom is not for you, but that does not mean nordstrom is bad. There is a difference between healthy critique and plain old critisim- And this post is not meant to critisize any one, just to highlight a reality that needs to be considered in this new generation of ours.

Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

well i feel that you are taking this discussion personally. you are entitled to express your opinion and i'm entitled to express mine. not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you.

Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

:smack: oh sorry mano…i just got it!! now i know why you took everything i said so personally. i read in another thread that you worked for fm100 in pakistan and if i can remember correctly so did the lady from sila.com and also the picture you have on your profile looks like the lady from sila.com. i sort of figured out from your posts that you might own sila.com and studiosila but i was not sure but now i think i know my answer. by the way your websites are really nice and i have ordered from sila before.

Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

Actually i worked in the office section of FM 104 not FM 100 and the name of my boss was Sima Siddiqui never met the lady from sila there. My work was to organize the naat and hamd that went on air from 5:30 a.m.- 7:00 a.m each morning. Have any more doubts? Call radio pakistan and ask about rukhsia bakht.

Also do u really thing people who run their own businesses have so much spare time on their hands that they go to forums and chat randomly? This is not a propoganda Shazi so dont worry about any conspiricies :)

DOSTI??

Re: Eye candy for makeup lovers

Hey, i never said every view point had to be the same i do live in the same world as you but thank u for your post again.

About sounding personal, let me just say that my dad is a doctor with a small practise and each time he is asked to cut his fee in half by a desi family, it makes him wonder and me too.
