laws are not equal depending on crimes i.e depending on ones deeds. But when one is born whether as a muslim or hindu or christian he is equal in eye of god. After born how you lead your life makes ur good or bad in eye of god. Just being a muslim and praising allah whole day wont help.
When you are born they are all equal, they remain equal till they attain age of "maturity" when you start questioning things, when you start understanding things. If you still don't recognize right from wrong thats what you will get "judged" for, and that is Islam.
"Just being.... help": Just being Muslim is not an easy job if that is what you think, just look around the world how many are really following their religion? How many are "praising Allah whole day"? A very very minute fraction.
