Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Why does the Pakistani government and the society continue to give religious fanatics the excuses they need to murder non-Muslims?

And to any Pakistani-Americans here: would you defend America against these mullahs?

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Okay I think you're a troll and you should be banned for copy&pasting and discussing the same topic again and again.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

The article is from earlier this week.. The rules of the forum is that copying and pasting is not allowed if you don't post your opinion on it. Since I did, the only reason you are seeking to ban is to clamp down on dissent. Sorry to say, but you can't kill someone just because you disagree with their view. It may work in Afghanistan but doesn't apply here.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

You'd be called an ogre rather than a troll becuase you have adopted troll philosophy in a sophisticated manner. :D

Anyway, please carry on spreading your hatred against Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Glorifying fat she-male bionic lady Fauzia Wahab wont work, she is a hated figure, not because of her 'so called' brave stand against mollah-tollahas, but shes downright corrupt and a badmash aurat. Her son goes around extorting and threatening whoever dares writes against her.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Corruption seems to be acceptable when mullahs do it. After all, they are spreading the message of their faith so somehow they're infallible, correct?

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Mullahs arent running the country nor are they part of the bureaucracy, your cherished politicians, just like fauzia wahab. When you shower praises on corrupt and hated politicians like her, no one will take your message seriously.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

I dont think people want to waste their time discussing with an agenda driven troll. If you're on this site because you're a regular poster the The Blaze or something and want to diversify your bile output please dont waste our time. Whatever our opinion of the state of Pakistani society, and there are diverse opinions here, nobody appreciates someone with that nick and a 'where are the moderate Muslims!' attitude commenting on us and our society.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

ravage, I assure you that I am not a troll. If that was the case, I would single out all Muslims instead. But seeing the change that has spread like wildfire in the region, I see Egyptians, Tunisians, Bahrainis, and other groups fighting to bring about change, but I see Pakistan being held back not just by the government, but also by its own people.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

well, i agree that we need to overcome significant challenges with respect to extremism, i think that insight isnt something too many will dispute. as for not being a troll, welcome to the forum in that case, lets hope you live upto that.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

I'm watching you.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

All these people want their voices heard and want same old faces out of the government. They are trying to achieve democracies.
But Pakistan already has democracy (like it or not). And there is no need for movements like those in middle east.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Khoji dont call this democracy by the way I dont belive in democracy butt still this is not democracy

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

I suspect even in Kashmir at any point of the struggle, this kind of situation prevailed. If true, seems to be very systematic.
Let me clarify, my reason for comparing this to Kashmir comparision before the whole thread go up in flames.

Kashmir and Baluchistan has historical similarities, both acceded to their current county after 1947, while Baluchistan made a fully integrated state in 1955, Kashmir is still enjoying special status.

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

When the americans are finally kicked out of afghanistan and pakistan you will see this so called extremism will go away with them you all know when the americans arrived our problems started!

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Why not. But "defend" can be a very nebulous term. How exactly are we supposed to defend America?

Re: Extremism in Pakistan: The lack of will by many to stop it

Has not terrorism existed long before 9/11? Was it not Al Qaeda, sheltered by the Taliban, who planned from inside Afghanistan their global terrorist activities? Have you forgotten Al-khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, Nairobi and Kenyan embassy bombings and the USS Cole in Yemen? Were these not planned and orchestrated by Al Qaeda? Have you forgotten that all of these events transpired at a time when the US had strategically disengaged from the region, after the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan ended? Should we forget that the fight against terrorism is a global war and the effects of terrorism are being seen all over the world? To suggest that “when the Americans get kicked out of Afghanistan and Pakistan you will see this so called extremism will go away” is a big misperception and simply not true. The truth is that these violent extremists are as much, if not more, of an enemy of Pakistan as they are to anyone else. Al Qaeda, Taliban and their members have been killing thousands of innocent people with no mercy in order to destabilize the country. They have waged war against your country’s civilian institutions and infrastructure during a time when Pakistan already faces economic troubles, and even the disastrous floods from this summer have not caused them to show mercy or restraint. We first handed experienced the affects of terrorism on our home soil……When Al Qaeda attacked the US on 9/11 and killed nearly 3000 innocent Americans. We acted in self defense to take control away from these ruthless terrorists and now our strategic alliance with the government of Pakistan and the Pakistani military is focused on curbing terrorist activities in Pakistan as we are in Afghanistan. Rest assured we will eliminate them before our forces leave the region. Our cooperation and assistance to the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan will endure long after that and we will remain focused on achieving the common objective of eliminating terrorism.
