extreme lower back pain

During sleep I experience severe pain in my lower back. I get this pain during my sleep only and it’s so bad that it wakes me up. I started getting it after my c section. So could it be because of c section or some other reason.

Today also I woke up with this pain. It’s such a killing pain. Right now I am at my work and completely fine , no pain at all. Why do I only get it during my sleep :bummer:

Re: extreme lower back pain

It might have something to do with your mattres.. I usually put a pillow between my legs when I get back pain - it relieves the pressure off my back - Also try taking Advil or Tylenol before you sleep and maybe switch sides of the bed - It might have to do with posture during sleep too

Re: extreme lower back pain

mysti- I don't think mattress is the problem , have been sleeping on it for quite some time and I started getting pain after my baby's birth only. Yea will take some pain killer before going to sleep since I can't take it for third day in a row.

Re: extreme lower back pain

awww.

could it be pain prehaps from having an epidural?! my friend suffered worst back pains after having her baby b/c of having an epi.

i hope your pain all clears up quickly, inshallah.

Re: extreme lower back pain

I didn’t get epidural , my body was not strong enough to take it :bummer:

I was given general anaesthesia

Re: extreme lower back pain

try the pillow between your legs tonight - see if tht works

Re: extreme lower back pain

see if you can get some one like your mum to give you a massage before you sleep if that wil help

Re: extreme lower back pain

I have the same issue, it was worst before, now it got better so it took a while(my son is almost 3) I had a epidural and then ended up with c-section. But I was very very sick, and I was in the hospital for about a month, I couldn't walk properly used to just take baby steps and had to go for short walks 5-6 times a day to keep my blood circulation going.

So number of things went wrong for me, not sure what was your situation. I had one more problem I was use to sleeping on my tummy, when I came home from the hospital I used to end up sleeping on my tummy unconsiously and as a reszult would not be able to turn or get up on my own because of the lower back pain, my hubby had to help me turn and get up.

My doctor suggested puttign a pillow so I got a body pillow and used to keep between my legs and kind of under my tummy to avoid sleeping on my tummy.
Good luck, try warm massages, warm compress, and don't get it took hooked on pain-killers, try and address the issue.

Re: extreme lower back pain

^ I was in hospital for 2 weeks before my baby was born and was under very heavy anti biotic treatment then was in hospital for the next 2 weeks when my baby was born so that summed up to 1 month in hospital too :crying:

Thanks for your advise :flower1: if I get time I will try to get some warm massages !
