The best way to show this girl that you care is through treating her respectfully (no rude remarks, no ignoring, no taking advantage, no using her, no mixed signals, no toying with her feelings). And by doing so.....in the process.......you might be able to sort out your own feelings for her.
yes first u have to respect her...and after some time not only her but u will also realize that u love her or NOT...if giving respect her is harder for u then im sorry this is NOT love...
