well i dont seems to understand the bottom line because on one hand we all yell that Mulvi should get some modern education as well as it is an exigent need of our era and if a hafiz ( or part mulvi , as many of you call him) try to get his hands on modern education and Govt maintains a policy of helping Hufuz with that extra 2 % marks so it can attracts more people from madrasa education to modern education , we start calling it discrimination !
Btw I have many Hindu barhamans , Sikhs and Christian friends and so far I havnt come across a single lad who knows his holy book by heart as we muslims do ! you suggest to give 200 points , I say make it 400 but you wont get many of them doing it . simple as religion and religious studies to majority of them is waste of time , where if ya make that extra 2 % to 5 or 10 % in Pakistan , insallah you will see more people doing hifaaz in Pakistan .
Cant we just let that thing go in sake of Sunnah , who should we make our imam while standing for Namaz , the one who knows more Quran then rest ! And it was tradition of Hazrat Muhammad ( P.B.U.H) to give preference and elevation to people in every aspect of life , who know more Quran then others . ( I shall be highly obliged if any of our brothers can post quranic ayats and hadiths regarding this issue).
