So I was reading an article about a Christian guy who was denied admission to a medical university because this other guy was a Hafiz, and being a Hafiz entitles you to 20 extra marks on your exam for free. Do you think this guy was hard done by and the system needs changing? I personally feel the Hafiz guy deserved the admission because I’d rather have Muslim doctors treat me in my country.

i mean there are christian schools.......and then places like FC college.......where christians get extra credit........... i don't see what the big deal is..

Every university has its own weightage system. But the extra marks are awarded in the board exams I think, which are the same for everyone.
This is only other form of reservation.

Punjab board has this rule. After you are done with your ECAT or MCAT,your final merit order is determined after adding 20 marks into the total score if you are a Hafiz or a Hafiza.

It makes sense. Hafiz' learn stupid-loads off by heart, which is basically a massive plus if you are gonna study medicine.

If its a public university, that's pretty stupid and needs to be taken care of.
If its a private university, its their call. I'd say the same if non-Muslims were given extra credit.

He is. I know thankfully educated Pakistanis condemn this behaviour. As for extra credit i do not mind if a hafiz e quraan is given extra credits. What i mind is when people say things like: "I would rather have Muslim doctor treating me".
