I am pissed off…my 400gb hard drive just stopped working today and when i replugged it in it said that my USB has malfunctioned…
Now have i lost everything on that hard drive or is there some way of salvaginh whats there?..
Please help cos there was so much stuff on that drive…

Best option will be to try that Drive with another PC & see what happens.

i have used this software with a lot of success
its command line based … not too hard… just read everything carefully and you will be able to recover your data

One proven solution to recover data from the drive is to freeze it. I'm not kidding. Just put the drive into one of those ziploc bags and leave it in the freezer for a day. Then take it out hook it up to a PC and recover everything.
Very Important: Once the data has been recovered THROW OUT THE DRIVE. I know of one who kept using it and ofcourse the drive died again!
