…the best in this field. I bought a brand new Western Digital hard disk in November last year & the bloody hard disk just failed to switch on one bright sunny day. I lost gigs & gigs of data & beloved music which 5abi & others had shared. Now I just feel like suing both Plug ins & WD, but I live in Dxb… It was a 250GB MyBook western digital with external power hard drive.
Now I have a claim on that hard drive, either get a full refund or replacement. Which one should I go for…???
im no expert but i say get a refund, not a replacement. I had a 160 GB maxtor external hard drive n it was working fine until it wouldnt switch on/wasnt recognised. I opened it up n there was a burning smell :S i wanted to recover some of the lost stuff so i stuck it in my pc motherboard- i was able to access some of the stuff and move it. But this is causing me problems right now, as the pc recognises it as a D drive, and when it fails, my pc kinda freezes over :S im gonna take it out lol.
Yea brother Umer, GITEX it was, & Im so pissed at them. I feel like I lost half of my livelihood. I had videos, tons of them, everything & anything cars, music, racing, drag, remote control stuff, dang I had history in there. Anyway.
Now which one should be the BEST, regardless of the price factor. I'm thinking of exchanging it, pumping some more money & buy dad a good cell phone.
Instead of doing a backup use 2 drives and mirror them, that way its duplicating info on both drives in real time. The best solution, ofcourse, is RAID5. Specially if its your life's earnings. Get one of those stand alone NAS devices (I have the Buffalo Terastation 1 TB box). They run about $600-700 but well worth the money.
Tofi baba I bought the Buffalo 250 GB hard disk, next month, one more drive, & since u gave me an old tip - mirroring with stripe parity - RAID 5, I might as well use that
Its made in Japan dude. Me & sharaabi were in this cool new store here & we picked it up.
Now Im backing up my stuff every day yaar, Im retracing my internet history mentally to download all the cool stuff I had.
Does anyone remember bmwfilms.com??? I want those vids back again.
