Express yourself

Are you good at expressing your thoughts/emotions to others or do you generally keep a tight lid on things? Do you find it easier to do so when you’re talking to someone, or easier if you write it down? I’m not talking about expressing them to random people or those that one doesn’t know that well, but rather people who one is close to.

Re: Express yourself

i had a dental assistant tell me her whole life story while she was cleaning my teeth. i like those people that are uninhibited in opening themselves up. it shows she has nothing to hide. i was like a free therapist for her

anyways, on topic there aren’t too many people out there that are good at listening…or really try to understand the situation so most of the time it’s only the person with the problem that has to ultimately get to that good solution to his/her problem. telling my probs to others always leads to them not really understanding or judging or pitying, stereotyping b/c they aren’t in the actual situation so they would have no clue.

did i go totally off topic :vivo: sawly

Re: Express yourself

LOL@ the dental assistant.

And no, you aren't off topic. It's all good.

Re: Express yourself

i generally keep a tight lid on my thoughts and emotions.

Re: Express yourself

I hate talking about my emotions. gaa.

I started blogging because I felt much better writing things out and going back a week or a month later to read how I felt. It's also a great way to analyze your feelings (like if were over-reacting or whatever). But there is nothing better than expressing your feelings to that one person, be it a parent, partner, or friend because you know they wont judge your words.

Re: Express yourself

Yes
No
Both

I was blessed with the gift of gab, and the ability to write as well. I don’t have a problem expressing myself or communicating my needs…now wether the other person understands or not…errr..that my friend is a whole other question :bummer:

Re: Express yourself

Same as Gaia, I find it much easier to write what I'm thinking/feeling. Also, it's traditional in my family to bottle up your feelings and express ourselves by buying each other expensive presents :/0

BUT with the right kinda people I turn a bit cuckoo and can talk all day long

Re: Express yourself

No and I hate it sometimes.

Re: Express yourself

cool i'm not the only one that writes it out. It helps tremendously and even in life1 when i open a thread it's mostly just for self therapy as i make myself down the thread bouncing off of each reply, lucky people in life1 and now all views ;)

when i'm not feeling crappy, i love talking to people and listening to them, trying to learn the art of getting a person's life story and getting them to open up so i can actually see the real person under the cool facade, it's always been interesting to me to hear what people have to say rather than me going on and on about myself

Re: Express yourself

can't do it. at all.

Re: Express yourself

im better at writting down my feelings, not very good with expressing it face 2 face.

Re: Express yourself

When I am drunk,I am loud and clear....

Re: Express yourself

Re: Express yourself

btw are you talking about expressing yourself when somebody has hurt you or done something to give you pain or are you talking about just being able to communicate with people on everyday issues?
