**Here’s an independent analysis by Alan Warnes of AirForces Monthly from the July 2002 issue of AFM. AFM, is the only magazine whose editors have flown with both IAF and PAF. They interviewed PAF chief this month.
He did this under assumption that Pakistan will not use tactical nucelar war heads on Indian airbases... on top of that the shaheen missiles were designed to hit enemy airfields...... this what experts said during 65.... PAF prooved them wrong... we will do so once again if war is thrust upon us... which I doubt since inherintly indian leadership is cowardish in nature
Talwar ji, no doubt that PAF is small in number, and holds some obsolete aircrafts, but Pakistan follows a different strategy. Pakistan uses old planes but after over hauling the aircrafts at the Kamra, we equip the same old planes with the latest radar technology, for example Grifo radar was designed in collaboration with the Italians, and is in the process of being commisioned into the PAF, and as far as I'm concerned it makes perfect sense to me, specially keeeping in mind our revenue situation. As far as the capabilty of PAF is concerned, I completely dis-agree with the author. Not because I'm from Pakistan, but because the facts speaks for itself. If you read the Indian defence report, it clearly states that if the war would have broken out, the superior PAF would have taken care of IAF( meaning that the IAF is not prepared ), in no time. I'm sure some of my fellow guppies will provide you with the link of the report, since I dont have it at the moment...
k talwar thts wat paper say n experts beleive but u no wat we pakisatanis r in habit f proving the experts wrong n to keep the mouths f our critics shut one more thing an indian fighter pilot flies to land back safly but u no wat pakistani fighter pilots love shahdat more thn ur fighter pilots love life. PAF beleives in man behind the gun not the gun it self if u r so confident in dominating pakistani skies in 10 days y dont u attack pakistan the reason india is not able to attack is coz they know that they r goin to gt thorough beating in the sky on the ground and in water so worry not there wont b any place fr indians planes to hide do meet ur relatives in IAF if they coming to pakistan for an attack coz pakistani pilots are not goin to let them go back
Talwar Correction: Most experts think the PAF will kick IAF’s sorry rear end if the IAF pilots haven’t done it already…one “expert” doesen’t think so…happy?
You have pathetic pilots, your ground stuff is pathetic, hell even ur ejection system doesnt work properly, and your pilots dont know how to bail out properly…
India not having attacked Pakistan seems to have disappointed a lot of people here! The common default answer to every other discussion point raised seems to be "then why haven't you attacked us". This consistent falling back, apart from missing the very obvious reasons, also serves only to wash away the limited credibility that exists on the part of the debators for Pakistan. Albeit, here is a referesher on the obvious:
India did not attack Pakistan because of several reasons combined:
the nukes. nothing to do with Pakistani valor - you simply don't mess with unstable material!
United States of America. They said and delivered necessary remedial action.
Musharraf. He is seen as one of (if not the only) last hopes to keep Pakistani people from the clutches of religious extremists. India attacking will make his position too hot to handle.
Vajpayee. He really does not want war.
Religious extremists, mullahs and Bin Laden: These are sufficient common enemies for India, US and Pakistan. So they don't need a war amongst themselves.
Rhetoric is sufficient to keep the hawks in place.
What Arjun! Coming from you. It was Vajpayee who wanted final and decisive action against Pakistan and then climbed down after given two month GIMMICK BREAK!!!

Sir, the reason why that argument is hashed and rehashed is because we are constantly told that "we could have attacked you and look at how strong and powerful we are".
Therefore, at all such demonstrations of Vajpayee's muscle flexing, the only logical question to ask is why didn't you?
