Expected water crisis

This is a very very serious issue. Our govt/establishment / judiciary/civil society , no one is taking it that serious which it deserve.

Water availability per person is going down year by year and we are letting water to drain to Sea...

Allah humuranon ko hidayat dey. They r the responsible ones.

marsoo marsoo dam na desu?

U r rite. Magar dam banane walon co chaniye keh dam se koi canal nah nikalain. Only make it as reservoir. Else the doubts from lower side of country will be correct. Already not much water in sindh river except during flood.

I remember the speech of musharraf about kalabagh dam. " dam to paani store karta hey . paani peeta nahi hey… It wud have been great if he defines that no canals will bemade out of the dam to divert water… which actually some of the PML-Q ppl were thinking for

Hypocrecy of PPP regarding KB dam was one major factor that exposed them in front of punjab ppl.
PPP has different standpoint in sindh and punjab about KB dam

PPP busy in election campaign as khursheed shah said sindh will seal its border with punjab if water is not shared as per treaty.

linking canal issue is not an issue for now. but PPP has concerns like dam will cause less water reach sindh. The point seems valid, but that can be managed by sharing more water to sindh. I think there is no will.
I think there will be more intense fight among provinces in coming days.

Staying in power for years and not giving a damn about dam. I dont think there is any issue at all but they just dont want to fix it.

Yes , PPP is using this issue as scape goat for their incompetency so they dont wnat this issue to be resolved else what slogan they will be using to scar ppl of interior sindh.

As for canal , sure once the canals are build , they will be used as well to distribute water at up stream ( near dam ) in punjab areas. Bit once there is no canal , than u dont have any chance of it. Though this solution seems not very optimal , but considering the mistrust among various provinces , this could have been a solution.

How hard is it to build a canal in the future?

The fact is that Sindh has no way to survive and prosper without dams. Indus Water treaty is a done deal so living in the past of kalhoros and jamshoros when there was a much much smaller population is not planning for the future. Perhaps people need to starve to death as there won’t be enough food without enough water. I was surprised when I read that how much water is wasted when Pakistan could store it and produce electricity.

uncontrolled and unregulated industrialization, lawless transportation and out of control pollution in India and Pakistan has screwed the region. leaders and masses are absoulte ignorants. an ordinary barbar finds it necessary to install A.C. in his shop, a bengle shopkeeper needs thousand watt bulbs to illuninate his shop. no industry is checked to discharge treatment. this idiot nation should pay the price of this sheer ignoramce.

last major flood was in 2010…floods and drought are cyclical…another flood is coming soon…if there were dams built…billions worth of damage could be prevented…and the stored water would offset the draught and also alleviate the fear of downstreamers that their routine water is stolen.

Should World Bank be involved to give guarantees just like it did for Indus Treaty? I don’t think that the distrust of Punjab will go away soon.

K4 pipelines given to Bahria Town…

its not average people but evil politicians that create thia hatred. if want to talk about KB dam sbarmila farooqi would say, sindh ka bacha bacha es k khilaf jaan denay ko tayyar hai. if KB dam is not a singnificant one then there is nothing to worry about as govt already working on other dams.

Had they ever paid attention to , “Pani Pani kar gai mujh ko qalandar ki ye baat..” there wouldnt be any shortage of water, electricity etc etc

Yes, It is true that Water Crises in Pakistan is going to be worse day by day as India build new big dams on Pakistani rivers and Pakistan waste billion dollars water in Arabian sea without using a single drop. So if we did not stop India to build new dams on Pakistani rivers and did not save that water then nobody can stop Pakistan converting into a desert state.

dont worry the elite will have water imported (maybe it already happens that their clean water comes from uk or usa).
the stupid jahil masses, can continue drinking contaminated water and suffer hepatitis and other diseases but yeah give the vote to corrupt people always.
