Exotic Muslim/Pakistani Names?

Re: Exotic Muslim/Pakistani Names?

I agree. But if some1 accept islam then it is not necessary ke he/she should get muslim name. Depend on him/her if he/she would like to change

**
if a new convert, last name is not required to be changed ever, the first name if its against islamic belief or is offensive...Prophet [saws] asked a few people to change their names because it didn't carry good meaning...like asiyah, Huzn etc**

Re: Exotic Muslim/Pakistani Names?

My little 5 year old cousin has one of the names in the above list :)

Re: Exotic Muslim/Pakistani Names?

My nana had decided to call me "Zil-e-Fatema" (jis par Bibi Fatema ka saya ho) but dad thought it was too old fashioned and came up with yet another older fashioned name as Gulnaar!! duh

Almost ALL the pakistani female names end in an A. 95% I'd say. Some typical examples:

Amna, saima, tahira, fatima, salma, nadia, nazia, jamila, rafiqa etc

Isn't it strange ?

Re: Exotic Muslim/Pakistani Names?
