did anyone watched the documentry on execution of 16 yr old iranian girl ? The fact that she was 16, but the judge and police took her for a 22 yr old and ordered for her execution, made me feel bad for her.

If someone is threatening to kill a young girl if anyone tries to arrest him and if his demands are not met in the next 30 seconds, it is not justified for a sniper to shoot the man to save the innocent life?
If a tyrant send his army to invade a neighbouring land so that he may dominate and rule over them, is it not justified for the people of that land to resist and fight and kill the tyrant’s soldiers before they are subjugated?
If a neighbouring country attacks you and kills your people, is it not justified to fight back to save the lives of your people?
If a man is very slowly driving a knife into the neck of your child, is fixated looking at your spouse in front of him and not noticing you behind him, would you not pick up a weapon nearby and try to kill him before he killed your child?

i dont believe in punishing criminals by death penalty (with VERY few exceptions) they should be studied to further our knowledge into the criminal mind and then kept in rehab or put into a position where they can benefit society in some way (unpaid ofcourse)

i agree with u. most ppl who object to death panelty would readily kill somone if they were in a situation like the ones u talk about or many others. It is only when you are sitting safely in ur house that all this mercy pours out. The same is true of the vegetarians. If they are starving in a place where they have no choice but to eat meat, they will do it.
and most ppl have this mindset that if you put a murderer in jail for 25 years, you are being merciful to him. On the contrary, the solitary confinement and slow wait of death is much more cruel than the death panelty.
