Excuses

I don’t know if this belongs here, but mods please feel free to move it to wherever you think it does belong. Preferably not cafe, I cannit cope with all the little faces. +_+

Basically, my work lot have organised a ‘do’ for me to celebrate an occasion and I do not want to attend.

a) I dont like being centre of attention (its true!).

b) It’s a bbq and they are all white. I could bring my own meat, but then I would need my own bbq too and I dont have one, I aint buying one either.

c) I just don’t want to go.

They’l all have the ‘do’ anyway as other events are being celebrated too, so I have nowt to feel bad about with regards to them cancelling it on my behalf, but I just cannit be arsed going.

I need a very feasible excuse.

My friend Laura reckons I should tell them im meeting her cos she’s off to Japan (she’s not) and I wont get to see her again.

Sounds a tad bit ficticious. They are teachers, they can tell when people are lying. Especially the wayI lie! I cannit de it.

Mature and sensible suggestions…

Re: Excuses

Tell the truth.

Re: Excuses

Suggestion one.

Some one move this thread to cafe.

Show up for a short while and just have the salad!

Re: Excuses

Blame Stoppits, she isnt here to help me, hence the need for the thread.

Waste of hair, clothes and make up. Plus, I REALLY do not want to go.

Re: Excuses

Well, guess wut, most of us would be facing the same situation every summer.. Atleast I do..

And Yes, totally agreed with the salad idea.. make yrself either a vegetarian or a on-diet person and that will do it! No need of bahanas..

My other suggestion, dont miss BBQ just due to the reason you gave in, cuz its just not eating/drinking.. its social networking and a lot of fun..

Enjoy!!

Re: Excuses

But I really don't want to go! I don't want to socialise!

Why can't youse come up with some good lies I can tell.

Re: Excuses

You have two options:-

a - Go for a short while. Show your face. Meet and greet. Have a drink or two and maybe a nibble of some of the rabbit food. Excuse yourself and leave.

b - Tell them the truth. Don’t be an arse about it…just apologise and say you’re not up for it. I’m sure they’d understand!

Lying is not an option. What would your kids say!!! :nahi:

Or make a commitment elsewhere and tell them you already have a commitment.

Re: Excuses

why don't you want to go?

Rest is all good but what about this drink shrink? :5:

I hope you are kidding here..

You win.

Thanks!

Long story...too lazy to type it all out.

I go to all other events, I just dont want to be at this one.

Re: Excuses

stoppit thinks you should go. thus, you shall be going.

Re: Excuses

Only if Stoppits will come and hold my hand (and do my make ups).

Re: Excuses

Say you've already made arrangements to see family that day, simples.

Re: Excuses
