This is a surprise for me. I don’t understand why a diplomat hailing from FATA join MQM.
Any idea?

Umer Khan Ali Sherzai, Pakistan’s former ambassador to Saudi Arabia, has joined Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Sherzai made this announcement while addressing a news conference at MQM headquarters ‘Nine Zero’, Azizabad on Tuesday.

Members MQM Co-ordination Committee, Raza Haroon, Nasreen Jalil, Shoaib Bokhari, Rauf Siddiqui and others were also present.
He said MQM was the only party in the country, which had raised its voice against feudalism.

The former ambassador hoped that soon MQM would appear to be the largest political party on the political scene of the country.

The former ambassador joined the party along with his companions, adding that many sitting MNAs and MPAs in Fata will also join MQM by the end of March this year.Umer Khan has reposed full confidence into the leadership of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain.

Actually MQM has changed their way and now first time working like a geniune political party .

Despite what behind this move but surely MQM trying hard to get some seats accept than Karachi. Good move thou

I got an idea. Maybe he's joining MQM to infiltrate it from within, and stop it from going after "Talibanization" of Karachi. He may also be a mole for "Establishment" since he was a diplomat. So many possibilities.

Or

Could Kamal have been wrong all along? Any idea?

I think he has joined mqm to soften their stance towards pashtuns in general.

I wonder if you w'd be saying the same thing if MQM were to leave the government tomorrow!!

And what about PML-Q and Moonis Elahi? I am sure you find them cleaner than Dental Floss too..

May be he lost his marbles. Umar ka taqaza , budha sathya gaya. MQM will always remain a regional party. Only some miracle can change that regional status of MQM. :hmmm:

politically PTI and MQM are more closer. I could see future alliance.

Will that change regional status of MQM ? If yes then it will be a miracle as MQM and PTI do not see eye to eye for now. Do they ?

MQM needs altaf hussain to be gone and it can be a viable party.
