Both Zardari and Sharif pussied out of investigating Musharrar or Kiani, not because of military pressure, but because of skeletons in their own closets.
Isnt it the least bit surprising that this guy Crickton was investigating Sharif, and the only hits he came up were 2 generals? Pakistan has close to 200 billion USD stashed in Swiss accounts, and he found 2 needles in the haystack, with a few million dollars?

I don't understand why institutions like UN do not pressurise tax havens like Switzerland to make stringent laws against black money and money laundering so as to prevent unethical practices. All our (countries like India, Pakistan etc) efforts are limited to making laws in respective countries and information sharing with tax havens. Why don't such countries ask international bodies to ask tax havens why they are keeping a blind eye and even guarding such malpractices?

I think Musharraf is blowing money he has earned from his book and lectures, as rough estimate is that by 2013, Musharraf's books and lectures across various media, earned him over 50 million dollars but from the article it seems, he is only left with $2 million. That is peanut.
In 2008, $2 million was worth 12 crore rupees.
Well, it is obvious that this amount is nothing to do with corruption. This amount cannot even buy Musharraf a decent flat in central London.
I think, being complete control of Pakistan, he should have followed Thugs and then he would have been riches person in the world. :)

Actually, even after so much rupee devaluation in the hands of Corrupt Thugs, value of $2 million increased from Rs 12 crore in 2008 to around Rs 20 crore in 2016. Still, Rs 20 crore in present Pakistan is not a big deal.
