and now new theory that human race was genetically modified/started by ALIENS!
The idea was 1st presented in 1968, in a book “Chariot of gods”. since then a bunch of “scientists” are trying to prove it’s validity by translating ancient script and symbols in ruins. Some even drew parallels with holy-books and use human intellect itself as a proof (as no other specie on earth anywhere closer to human intellect).
Mainstream science is keeping it’s distance (for obvious reasons).
Now the question:- how would you react if, lets say 50 years from now, mainstream science “proves” that this theory is the only “logical” explanation for human origin?
playing devil's advocate ^ But main religions maintain that human race IS the chosen one. if you say that aliens were created, are you not accepting the argument that aliens later created humans? (which goes against religious belief. )
erik von daniken is a crazy genius. For years no one listened to him but the guy had substance and points. Just because he does not have formal education in the related fields does not mean he should be hushed away.
i dont get why people put evolution in the spotlight. no one does the same to the cell theory. evolution is a scientific fact. science does not prove or disprove religion. it relies on qualitative data and based on observations and facts evolutioanry theory has been developed. it's not one or the other.

by the way, there is no denying in my brain that Grand Design is what made us. The question is that who was the designer. Some can say Aliens, we can say God. I dont see much difference.

Science relies on available data and results are as good as observation and methods used. Besides evolution theory has a big hole in middle, it does not explain why human race advanced rapidly in last 3-4 hundred thousand years, whereas dragon fly which is around for 65 million years still not able to, lets say invent a wheel. The conditions are same for all species, but why only humans managed to advance intellectually?

Not necessarily. TO think that we are the CHOSEN ONES in a Universe that spans almost 150 Billion light years across is to be incredibly proud, don't you think? Anyways, I don't really have a problem with the theory of evolution. Allah can do anything he wishes. There is nothing in the Universe or in Islam that can't be explained by science. Allah SWT made this universe (and there is now evidence that this universe isn't the only one), and he can also create in any way he wishes.
And if you think about it, that's what faith is. Having faith in Allah, even though you can't see him. That's the real test.

it is not the theory of evolution that has a big hole in the middle if that is your question - it is your understanding of it that has a big hole. the answer to your question is - niches.

Queer, I must admit I have no command over natural sciences. You, on the other hand, appear to have far superior knowledge. Why not you educate me and others on this subject? That would be wonderful and more constructive. Don't you think?

that is like saying, oh i don't know elementary mathematics, but can you open a thread to teach me integral calculus. look up what "niche" means in the evolutionary context, and you'll have your answer.
