Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

errrm. why so many anolgies to a simple question? Is terrorism evil?

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

what a coherent thought process!

so you start with a religious context of evil ( satan and all) and then extrapolate it to modern day evils?

what has evils in the world today to do with the religious understanding of a satan?

if I read you correctly - are you saying if I am a atheist then I should not believe there are thieves?

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

Thanks for the compliment :D

I am simply saying that evil forces are refered to devil. If devil does not exist, then where did evil come from in humans?

For those who question why God created devil, my counter question in this case is, if evil exists in humans then, why can't it exist in a Jinn/Shaitan.

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

Dude, I'm trying to tell you.......you're asking silly self negating questions!

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

why are you dodging the question? I ask again, is terrorism evil?

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

.

From which perspective?

Let's start with a stipulation first: Several years ago when the Sri Lankan cricket team was ambushed, it was terrorism. Agreed?
Second: The people that committed the act were terrorists. Agreed?

I think you and I can agree on both.

Now what about the people committed the act and their supporters? Do they consider them terrorists? Do they consider the act to be terrorism?

I'm willing to bet no!

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

I did not ask if a given act is terrorism or not, did I?

From whoever's perspective, if terrorism exists, is it evil?

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

Dude..evil is a mythological concept. If you don't accept the myths of god and demons...why would you accept evil?

The right way to frame the question is: Do atheists believe there is a right and wrong?

I think that's what you're trying to ask. You don't need fairy tales for that!

Re: Evil Vs Divine Existence? Does belief in one mean the existence of other?

hanh? Why are you trying to ask your question through me? :hehe:

Dude, you need to understand where I am coming from. I can not ask that question because I already know the answer as I have mentioned that in post number 15
