Like, do people hurt one another out of ignorance, or because they really want to hurt someone just for the sake of hurting them? (there is a distinction here).
I came across this lovely quote, and it reminds me of all jerks who hurt people with their insensitive comments.

Hmm. I've come across far too many people who say something that hits me the wrong way or bothers me and when i try to point it out they say "I'm only joking" or "stop being so sensitivE" or "what do you want me tod o about it?" or, my favorite "aray main bakwaas kartee hoon, u can't take anything I say seriously." I used to think it was them, but there've been too many who do that so I think it's something about me that I gotta fix...
well at least that person backs off when you confront them. when i confront someone they have the nerve to say that's exactly what they said, and no I didn't hear wrong!
I will partially agree for Shaitan (the Evil) strikes on ignorant ( or those who choose to be ignorant)
Just like Allah:swt: says in Surah Baqarah:
2:13 When it is said to them: “Believe as the others believe:” They say: “Shall we believe as the fools believe?” Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they are ignorant.
Evil is when you do not have principles concerning the welfare of the innocent and the value of human life. A world dominated by any chanting decadence or hate is evil's by products. Evil do not seek a world of peace for the rest of the humanity.
Most of the secular intelligentsia seem to think of evil as the discredited artifact of ancient superstition. For these minds, morality itself is a conditioned cultural response, and the good represents that which we, as “sovereign” individuals, choose to it be. The ambivalence of the intelligentsia is a symptom. Their moral relativism is the malady.
Also, if your mind was not yet compromised, you were able to see that US attacks for what it really was: an unambiguous instance of evil in the world, directed at the core values on which modern civilization, other than US, has been organized. The identification of evil becomes a partial definition by example, as in “we can at least all agree that the mass murders like nuclear attack on Nagasaki and Hiroshima was evil.” If you are predisposed to recognize the universal themes that are occasionally revealed in major events, the arrival of large-scale evil can be a “teaching moment”. Ignorance plays a part too but not necessarily one has to graduate from Berkeley University to desist from evil. How would you define evil acts committed as a group but not as an individual, do you think ignorance kicks in at any point?
I dont agree with that at all. Cuz I think evil and ignorance are two different things. If you do something very bad but not intentionaly its ur ignorance and when u do something bad and you mean to hurt someone, for any grudge that u have against the person or just for fun, thats what is evil.
Everyone have an evil side to their soul, the greatness or the virtue of any person is in how much he can subdue his evil part.
