Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

^ Your vitriolic rants are beyond disbelief. Mush and his over-inflated generals are not above the law and are no less crooks than some of these politcians and if you believe otherwise you are just a messed up PA fanatic.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Actually, PML N is not quite in a position to form a majority govt on it’s own yet, or at least if it does it will be a very tenuous one, with some lota’s and such. You need 186 seats to form a majority Punjab government, and this is what the breakdown is at the moment.

PML N = 165

PPP-P = 106
PML Q = 86
PML F = 4
MMA = 2
IND = 2

Pending = 6

As you can see from the above figures from the ECP, the PML N on it’s own cannot form a Punjab govt without support from others, like the PPP-P. Though, it is technically possible for the other parties combined (with a total of 200 seats) to scratch together a govt, with the right external support, and leave the PML N out in the cold.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Yea, my rants are beyond disbelief, because my rants are not only true but believable.

As for your vitriolic rants, they are really beyond being believable because it is senseless. To me, supporters of crook and corrupt politicians like Nawaz and Zardari are as corrupt and crook as them and are dark spot on the face of this world, as I believe (actually, I know) some of them parasites are living on the corrupt money they made during the crook periods of 1990s and are eagerly waiting for that period to come back again so that they can start their corrupt dance again.

And it is same here that if you believe that these crook politicians are worth a penny worth of cry and you rely on them, than you are messed up fanatic. So, please don't make comments when you see mirror.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Bhai, you are trying to show the figures to those who could not know difference between figures or what figures mean. Someone told them that Nawaz had 2/3 majority in 1999, so he was King of Pakistan, and now they are puzzled that how the king ended in prison, and was getting hanged when Musharraf pardoned him and let him live :).

Brother, you should let some people live in their dreams :slight_smile:

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Well I do not hate PA as an institution. The military is an important pillar of the state but they must under no circumstance exceed their domain. And I do not believe that all politicians are crooks. Yes there are some bad fish amongst our politicians but not everyone is a crook. The same applies to the military and other institutions (media & judiciary). Besides the elected representatives are accountable to the people of Pakistan who have elected them and not to the military. You on the otherhand give the impression that PA is above the law and everything about them is hunky dory and rant all the time about how bad and evil all politicians are. So it's you who infact needs a reality check. Get your head out of your....and breathe some fresh air for a change.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

It is same Pakistan where the "President" would file a reference against CJ when he refuses to agree to his 2nd term and then put him to house arrest but once his objective is completed then all of a sudden the same President forgets all the crimes and corruption of the judge.

It is same Pakistan where a COAS kicks out a civilian govt for conspiring to kill him, vows to eliminate corruption but in a matter of few months lets out the same conspirer, later on issues NRO to cleanse all the past corruptions etc.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Not correct.
There is a forward block in the PML-Q at Punjab level that will be supporting PML-N.

Nawaz Sharif says he has reservations over MQM’s role in new Govt

MANSEHRA: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said PPP nominee for the office of prime minister-ship Yousaf Raza Gillani will get full cooperation of his party Pakistan Muslim League (N). Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said parliament will be made sovereign so that it could resolve problems of the people. He said inflation has made life of the people miserable. Nawaz Sharif said that he has reservations over the role of MQM in the next government. He said the policies of the previous government will be reviewed and decisions will be taken in view of the national interest. He said the nation still wanted to know the killing of people in Karachi on May 12 last year. He was of the view that the previous government was not transferring authority but problems to the incoming government. Nawaz Sharif criticised delay in the convening of sessions of provincial assemblies. He said nomination of a candidate for the office of prime ministership from South Punjab was a good omen.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

NS reservations for MQM role make sense. MQM always wants to rule whether military government or political government at any cost. MQM's role on 12th May carnage needs complete enquiry and criminals should be brought to justice.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

For Saleem's information:

COAS a grade 22 officer (cf. federal secretaries, provincial chief secretaries, heads of most organisations such as WAPDA, PIA, CBR, CDA, even PCB etc.) is subordinate to Federal Defence Secretary and Federal Minister for Defence in every country never mind the Prime Minister. Only in Pakistan can a COAS break the law and overthrow an elected leader (however bad he/she may be), introduce constitutional ammendments like any body's business to protect all his illegal actions and con people for a good decade or so......basically get away with murder

PML-N to devise own strategy if MQM joins govt in Centre: Nisar

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) can accept talks between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for the formation of a government in Sindh, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told Geo News on Sunday, adding that it will evolve its own course of action if any effort is made to finalise any power-sharing formula for the Centre. Nisar told the channel that his party had not created any hurdles for the Pakistan People’s Party to include the MQM in the Sindh government despite PML-N’s reservations over the MQM. He said there was no power-sharing formula for the Centre so far, adding that the PML-N would clear its stance after such a formula was put forward

Jumbo cabinet of 60 plus on it’s ways…

*The would-be coalition partners have failed to reach a consensus on cabinet formation, as a tug-of-war has begun between the new allies over key slots. A senior PPP leader told Daily Times on Sunday that there’s every possibility that the cabinet’s size would be enlarged to accommodate all stakeholders. ****“We’re of the view that the cabinet should be small, but it seems very difficult … There are the PPP, PML-N, ANP, JUI, and MQM in the coalition, showing that adjustments would definitely be made,” the PPP leader said. ***There are speculations that the MQM would become the part of PPP-led coalition government at the Centre. The PPP and PML-N have decided to form the cabinet in two or three phases. Independent candidates and 10 FATA MNAs also wanted their pound of flesh, the leader said, adding that the new partners had yet not reached a consensus on the cabinet’s size. He said that since his party had decided to take the MQM on board, the number of cabinet members might jump to around 60 or more.

*“There are differences over the distribution of some ministries,” he said. Daily Times has also learnt that the MQM has demanded the PPP award it ports and shipping; housing and works; and communication ministries. “PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif will meet on Monday to finalise the distribution of ministries,” the PPP leader said. *“We are planning that the would-be law minister takes oath immediately after the oath-taking ceremony of the prime minister, who will draft a resolution, demanding a UN probe into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto,” he said. A source said Senator Latif Khosa was the most probable next law minister.

Sharif threat exposes cracks in Pak alliance

Rezaul H Laskar in Islamabad |March 24, 2008

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has threatened to act against any move to include Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Pakistan’s new coalition government citing the party’s close association with President Pervez Musharraf.

“We, as well as those Urdu-speaking people who are not part of the MQM, have reservations over the MQM’s inclusion in the coalition government because we know who was behind the May 12 carnage in Karachi (last year) that left 48 people dead,” PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif told media persons in Mansehra on Monday.

Sharif was referring to riots that erupted in the southern port city of Karachi last year when former Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was scheduled to address lawyers as part of his campaign against President Pervez Musharraf’s efforts to sack him.

The MQM led by Altaf Hussian which controlled Karachi’s city government was widely blamed for the violence.

The PML-N will accept talks between the PPP and the MQM for the formation of a government in Sindh province but it will ‘evolve its own course of action if any effort is made to finalise any power-sharing formula for the Centre’, said PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Reports about the MQM’s inclusion in the new coalition government led by the PPP were sparked by the MQM’s decision to withdraw its candidate in the elections for the post of the prime minister at the request of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

In the 342-member National Assembly, PPP has 120 seats, PML (N) 90 and MQM 25. In the 168-member Sindh assembly, PPP has 89 seats and MQM 51.
Sharif said, “We want the report of the May 12 carnage to be made public. If we don’t make the report public and fail to expose the hands behind the incident, the coming generations will never forgive us.”

Senior PML-N leaders have also expressed reservations about the MQM’s association with Musharraf as the party had backed the President and the previous PML-Q government.

“We have reservations about those who worked with a military dictator for eight years and were behind the May 12 violence. But we will not come in the way of the unconditional support that they are giving to the PPP,” said Nisar Ali Khan.

MQM deputy convener Farooq Sattar said his party had not received a formal offer from the PPP to join the coalition government, but is ready to consider such a proposal.

The MQM had offered unconditional support to the PPP, which had to decide whether it wanted the party in the government or as part of the opposition, from where it could support constructive policies, Sattar said.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Why "patch up"? Everybody knew the marriage was temporary for "elections" as well as 'anti-Mush' sentiment. Mushy party has been defeated who is now slowly crawling back to their dark caves.

Re: Everything falling in place for Zardari/Musharaf partnership.

Captain bhaijan. What I don't understand is why Zardari is courting MQM? It appears that is what Zaradari and the establishment wanted all the time, and PML (N) is once again being used and tossed aside?

The anti-Musharaf sentiment has largely come from PML (N), whereas PPP's sentiments have been very conciliatory. Also, the USA does not trust PML (N) with PML (N's) soft spot for the alleged 'jihadist' parties?

Interesting times ahead for PML (N) as the Zaradari (PPP)/Musharaf /USA nexus grows.
