I disagree. When I see bigotry, I call it. Fight wasn’t over simply politics or religion. It was about religious bigotry. I think you can fill in the gaps.
Plus, regardless of face to face or social media, we are dealing with real people. If one doesn’t speak up against what is wrong, that is “so lame”.
With total strangers, if the r ashwipes it is easy to return fire and call it a day. With relatives (and their friends) you know some of them. So it gets intense. Am glad to have spoken up. Maybe the message sank in. Maybe it didnt.
Wish more people wouod speak up against stuff that affect someone other than themselves and their immediate circle.

What really annoys me is how everyone wants to be the first to jump onto the grief-fest wagon.
Everyone wants to out-do the others by going that one step too far. “RIP Paul Walker, you are with the angels now”. RIP Paul Walker, greatest actor ever.
etc etc
When in actual fact most people couldn’t name any film he was in apart from the fast and furious series.
I don’t mind political posts, I enjoy schooling people.

Mine is filled with things happening in the arab world all written down in the arabic language. The perks of living in that part of the world where all your friends speak to you in person in English but fill your fb page with arabic text. so.much.fun

Same tbh. Half the reason why I spend less than 5 mins browsing around on FB. I get these people want to raise social awareness about such issues but you can tell some do it so they can show others ‘oh hey, look at me I knew it first, I’m so socially aware’.
Then you get the other half white people, who only go on about how much their gonna get wasted tonight when they go out.
Second guessing whether I should just deactivate FB or not now.
