You are welcome ... I found out that Zoroastrians do NOT worship fire, but they worship One God. This confused me when I thought they worshipped fire, because we are told that we (Muslims) can marry them.

They are also called Magians and they have nothing to do with magic.

Re: Ever wanted to know about Zoroastrianism?

I heard that in old days they were granted status of Ahle Kitaab in muslim countries. They were initially considered Mushrikeen but they contested that and made people know that they worship one God.

Re: Ever wanted to know about Zoroastrianism?

I don't think they would be considered ahle kitaab. Just like the Ahmadi's they also believe that a prophet came after Prophet Muhammad SAW and this makes them a deviation from the ahle sunnah.

Also, just to put my two cents on the videos. In the last video the narrator started out by saying how the abrahamic religions all believe in the same principle - that we are here in between a battle of good and evil. As a Muslim i disagree with that statement. Allah is the all Powerful the Mighty, without His will nothing would exist...we wouldn't, the jinns wouldn't and neither would the shaitaan.

It is the misguidance and pride of shaitaan to believe that there is such a thing as a "battle" between good and evil. Even tho we as human beings have free will to chose which path to take...we have to remember Allah is the creator of all things and the shaitaan could never have this "battle" without Allah's will.

Who is the prophet the Zoroastrians believe came after Muhammad (SAW)? It can't be Zarathustra because his time was thousands of years ago.

The narrator says in the last video that "we are not here to feed the gods, or seek enlightenment, we are here to take part in a cosmic moral battle between good and evil."

He is not implying that God is the good side and Shaitan is in any way an equal and opposite foe. He did not say that. In truth we are here to pass the test to be good and avoid evil. The battle part of it is true also because this battle we do with Shaitan and ourselves it is called Jihad. If you allow the understanding that God created both good and evil his statement is still true. Or am I getting confused about something?

Abrahamic religions do believe in same principles. It is the people and not religions who are good and evil.

"Crow Eaters" by Bapsi Sidhwa is a nice novel narrating some aspects of the religion in a light mood.
