Re: ever met a schizo
When I lived in my first apartment, there was a cvery nice girl living alone on the floor below me. We'd say hello to each other but she pretty much kept to herself, going to church alot, playing her flute alot, no guests. Then one day, I heard her screaming downstairs, heard the door slam and there she was ranting and raving out in the street, then she laid down right in the middle of the road. I went out to try to help her and she was telling me that she used to be vietnamese but got captured and they operated on her eyes to make her look american, that they were coming back to get her. She was totally unaware of who or where she actually was. I got her to go back to her apartment to "hide" from them then I went and got the landlord who contacted her "emergency number" relative. They came to get her and she was hospitalized for two months. Apparently, she has paranoid schizophrenia and stopped taking her medication which brought on the episode that I witnessed. When she returned from the hospital, she was the same shy and sweet woman as before.
