and they didn't even know their husbands names? Now that's strange. I believe that the girls might not have seen their husbands prior to marriage but what about the in laws.....they must have seen the girls.

Some horror stories!!! Now a days nikah is done during the afternoon and the reception is held at night. That's how we did ours.
Re: Ever been to a wedding where the bride or groom said "NO" during Nikah?
One of my mum's friends told her this story.
Apparently, there was this family that lived in the same neighborhood as them in Lahore. And so, the wife in this family had been feuding with her brother for the past several years; once upon a time, she had asked her brother to marry his son to her daughter, but he refused, and they hadnt been getting along since then. So, about a year back, the woman tries to patch things up with her brother, and says...lets let bygones be bygones, you didnt marry your son to my daughter, so why dont you marry your daughter to my son. In the interest of maintaing peace in the family, the brother agrees...and throws a lavish wedding to celebrate (apparently, he went into a lot of debt...she was his only daughter). So, on the wedding night, the bride is sitting in her room...and the groom walks in, throws the talaq papers at her, and walks out.
Apparently, mother and son had planned out their 'revenge' on the brother's family from the very beginning...disgracing his daughter, and ruining him financially...all becuase he didnt marry his son off to her daughter.
If thats not twisted, I dont know what is.

All those who wish to witness the excitment of such failed wedding ceremony, y'all are invited to my wedding, because unless the dulha is Tom Welling, I am most probably going to say, "Qabul nahin!". I might say.."50/50 qabool hai" if it is Ashton.

I know of a wedding that was called off on the day of the Mehndi. The bride's family told everyone their sister died on the way to the Beauty Parlour in an accident, but the truth was she ran away with her boyfriend.
I cried for whole two days for nothing.
