No it is never justified. Even if your partner is toxic then have some dignity, break up with them, and then move on. People who cheat want to have their cake and eat it too. They make up myriad of excuses to justify their behavior or drum up sympathy for themselves. Meh.

I don’t think someone who was cheated on will come forward and admit but my guess is, it is not something rare to say the least.
As far as justification is concerned, it depends upon the circumstances and what a person means by cheating. Some people feel cheated even over the most meaningless interactions of their loved one with opposite gender.

On and off relationships are the strangest. I would assume a person in such a relationship will always be on the look out for a backup for the “off” part of the relationship. Brings up so many funny but realistic scenarios in mind.
