I think we also need a break to spend more time with our families.
I mean the players have to play only their game…while fans like us sometimes have to follow 3 matches at a time…IND vs PAK, AUS vs BD, SA vs NZ…and then have to memorize the scores, upload video clips, discuss player performances(even the commentary and umpiring performances), read Dhobi_bhai’s essay-like posts (!)…you get the drift.
And unlike the players who get rest in the pavillion during the batting innings, fans like us have no respite.
On a related note : Gavaskar satheeyaa gaya hai. He apparently said that he does not understand why there is so much outcry about the gruelling cricket schedule…as per him players should feel proud to represent their country and should be ready to play 365 days a year if required.
To say that Gavaskar’s comment is stupid would be understating it. But then…coming from a man who was so proud to represent his country that he once stayed at the wicket for all of 60 overs in an ODI to score 36 runs…it is understandable.
Re: Even the FANS are fatigued by this Cricket Overdose
not really..if anything i think fans need to see more competitive cricket on t.v like Australiia vs England,Pak vs India and less boring cricket like bengladesh vs newzealand or India vs west indies as its gonna happen now.Do americans get tired of watching baseball or footbal?no.do english get tired of watching soccer? no never..so why are u assuming that we need a break from this game that we love so much...we need much more.

So true..
I totally lost my interest in this season after 4th ODI of India vs Eng and didnot watch India vs Pak series at all.
I hate those 7 ODI series. ODI sereis shouldnot have more than 5 ODI
Re: Even the FANS are fatigued by this Cricket Overdose
... and then Some1 complains that "Faisal only posts when India loses". Dude, kis ke paas itna time hai ke har match pe commentary karay? Alright, I take it back as obviously several people here do have time for that, but still... you get the point.
Re: Even the FANS are fatigued by this Cricket Overdose
Yeah, way too much cricket on show. Nowadays it's not unusual to have 3 matches being played simultaneously in different parts of the world. It also seems to have an effect on the quality of cricket, which is only understandable due to player burnouts.
Also, 7 ODI series are an abomination, case in point being the recent Ind-Eng series. The winners were obvious after the 3rd game and in the end all we got to watch were second string sides going at it. 3 ODI's are fine, maybe 5 for intense rivalry series like Aus-Eng and Ind-Pak.
If I see Pakistan and India go at it one more time in the not too distant future, I'm afraid I might throw up.
