It is always up to the girl or woman to be instructive and ethical and then you can have a good trustworthy human relation, but if its about seeing each other as intmate partner or as potential spouse, be careful with any boy or man. the honor and respect that a boy or a man offers and the manner in which he offers it, caringly and genuinely should be your criteria to allow him to become close to you for marrying with dignity or you must disallow him any confrontation and approach.
boys and men need to learn to respect good girls and women. and like wise for girls and women ,too.
