Thread should have been titled spanish football and racism but racism resurfaced n english football as well last week.
It all started from the match between Spain and England last week and spectators chanted monkey sounds and racist ocmments against some black english players. Then it happaned again yesterday with Real-Leverkusen CL tie when brazilian player was abused. More and more players are coming out with revelations and it has opened a can of worms it seems with an english player claiming he was abused racially in a premiership match last week.
In my opinion it has always been there and Fifa, Uefa, Spanish FA etc are all appearing innocent, and racism is generally prevailing in europe as a whole.
yeah shawn wright phillips and rio ferdinand + ashley cole were givena ear full, it's shame really players of afro carribean origin have been in the sport for a long time now, surely ppl can get used to seeing them play
What can you expect when the manager refers to Thierry Henry as a monkey or ape or whatever to "motivate" Reyes.
i actually felt physically sick everytime Shaun or Ashley got the ball and willed them to score or even just to embarass the Spanish players so as to give those racist fans the metaphorical middle finger - i feel repulsed to the very bones.
