My personal choice would be Europe, because of it's very diverse cultures. You have a lot of cultural differences between US states as well, but in Europe that comes out stronger. Apart from that you hear different languages and Europe has much more history to offer than the US (in case you'd be interested in that).
I think that's why Philadelphia was the US city I liked most. It kind of has a European touch to it.

Europe has more history and you can travel for a day or so and the vista can be entirely different
